Changing colors in the signal meter
 

This is just something I was playing with. Let me know what you think. The signal bars change from green to red based on signal strength.

Unfortunately I cannot get my signal to drop. But, at two bars it goes to yellow and one bar is red. Its just something to play with. Didnt know if people would find it useful.

same here, colonel ur the MAN!!. You are the one that actually got me to take the plunge into custom roms and whatnot!.

Colors can be anything you want. However, these files are rom specific so they will only work with certain roms. That said, it should be possible to do with any rom as long as I can get the proper files. For anyone running the new 3.3 base rom, there are two files in my folder on the ftp. They are tapres.96.dll and CDMA_RSSI_PPC.dll. You can copy these files to \Windows and reset the device.

I just threw some colors in there. Once some people use it maybe we can get a good concensus on which colors to use.

EDIT: I threw together a cab that should install the files to \WIndows.

Cool...I can't wait to try it in the new Kitchen!! I'm running R4 now so hopefully in the next day or 2 I will be running with the newest ROM and I'll give it a spin!!

That is a no-go on the 700Wx...tried installing to both the device and SD Card and got this error....

yes, this will only work with the new Bell 3.3 roms. If I have time, I may do some work on older stuff, but that is kinda pointless. As far as the WX, is there a dumped rom?

it'll be great if you can get it to work with the 3.5 roms!!

Hey Colonel, I like this Idae of modifying the topbar without adding progs like Wisbar.
I use a reghack from your oldr rom for adding date on topbar too.

So you feel newer core R4 kitchen is history now with new Bell 3.3..
I guess makes sense since this 3.3 was meant for our units, while R4 was from anothr device.

Since you & Lu2chill are doing the kitchen finishing for the new 3.3, I was wondering, would it be of any benefit to incorporate anything from R4 kitchen into the new 3.3 kitchen?

New kitchen is/will be better than R4. While this is based on the 3.3 Bell rom, it still has the 3.5 components and everythign else good. Basically, it is an upgrade from the other kitchens. Now, it has drivers that work for our phones better.

Hate to be all politically correct, etc ....
 

I like red/green (I know they can be anything), but as a default they don't work so well for those of us with color blindness :)

Colonel, For some reason it keeps failing when I try to install it. I've tried all 3 locations and it still will not work. I just cooked and loaded my first rom from 1.0.1. Any ideas?

i am using the new kitchen with rom 3.3 and it works perfectly fine for me.. maybe its the rom your using as to why its not working.

I have not messed with the stock rom files. Have you tried these? Better question, why are you running a stock verizon rom? :wink:

Yea i downloaded ur zip file and tried installing the cab and when it gets to the screen asking where to dowload the cab to, DEVICE or STORAGE CARD, which ever i pick it just keeps asking where to dowload the cab to. So after trying both the device and the storage card, for multiple times, i just hit cancel and figured i'll ask to c if u can make one for stock roms.

Ummm, I'm comfortable w/ the stock rom lol nothing that's bugging me yet. I figured if it's not broke, y fix it, lol. I'm sure there'll come a time where i'll load the custom rom. But for now the stock rom is working good w/ me, i guess that's the best i can explain it. So u gonna make one for me or WAT?!?!? hahahaha jp, jp. But recently i've realized that the last few programs i've dowloaded have all been urs... so when i saw this i figured i'll try it out. After all it's a colonel creation. lol.

So yea, if u can that'll b great if not then don't worry about it, it's all good.

Holy $**T that was a fast reply lol. Yea I have a feeling i'll have a custom rom soon. But for now i'm ok to the stock rom, and plus i got a few things i wanna take care of w/ verizon before completely moving to the custom. BTW.. one q'stion i've been wondering about the custom, for the longest is, if i go custom, and then say for some reason i need to go bak to the stock (i have the stock .exe file from UTstar website) rom? Umm i have a feeling the answer is yest, but i'll leave the q'stion for u, 'cause u def. know a whole lot more than me.

yeah, you can always flash back to a stock rom in case you need to take it in.

Strange, I was on my Mogul on this page it won't display the zip file for download. Anyone else have this problem?

I am logged in right now,and I still can't see the zip file. Dunno what's going on.

Zip is still there in the first post. However, I do not think this will work with the WM6 rom. I have not had a chance to really test yet, but dont be surprised if it doesn't. Once the WM6 kitchen is up and going, I will go back to this little project.

Also, if anyone comes across icons to replace the boring ones let me know.
