Windows Media PlayList generator.

Is there a tool to generate the Windows Media Playlists or at least convert from m3u or other formats.
Updating the Library in Windows Media Player sucks. It picks up all the audio voice files from my GPS software as well as all the p#rn I put in a tmp directory.

I just want my music mp3 files synchronized and nothing else.
I can't selectively update by folder.I've been manually making the .asx XML files by in notepad and copying
the songs into folders with folder.jpg for album art. It is a bit crappy.

Do I have to use Windows Media Player on the desktop? I use Linux and OSX most of the time. I can export my music from Itunes to folders and a XML playlist file.
