Removing software in the HP rom

So I've been playing with my new toy, and HP have kindly installed Googlemaps into the ROM which I really don't like since its updateable software.

I can't seem to find anyway of uninstalling it! is there actually anyway of doing it? seems so messy to have the old version and the new version installed at the same time.

Thanks.

Re: Removing software in the HP rom

Tap Start > Settings > System > Scroll down to Remove Programs, and then select Google Maps and tap Remove. And also, the new version overwrites the old version so there's no need to remove it at all.

Thats the thing! Its not in the remove programs list, and the newer version doesnt overwrite the older one either, I end up with two Google Maps shortcuts in Programs, and on start menu items, I cant remove the older googlemaps included in the ROM or add the Newer google maps to the start menu.

I'm begining to imagine that the only way of removing it would be to Cook the ROM? I know there isn't any custom ROMs for the 914c, but I wouldn't mind having a bash at it myself :-)
