FREE Unlimited Text Messages for SERO account.

Well for those that had sero plan, the deal got even sweeter. Sero is running a promotion that offers FREE Unlimited Text Messages from May 21 to June 30. So call in and get your free sms. You could call Employee accounts @ 1-866-250-2221 or Retenton @ 1-866-881-9571 or simply call *2. You could also email ecare. Happy texting and don't wore out those thumbs. :P

UPDATE: Unlimited Text Messages offer is now extended to September 29, 2007.

Catman51 05-21-2007 08:09 PM

I went to the website, you need an employee's email address to sign in.
On the main page it states for a new phone number (or I guess 2nd phone) only. Not for existing accounts. So, that sucks.

wingzero 05-21-2007 11:35 PM

Existing sero account can get this promotion also. I just got mine from ecare. My sister got hers by calling the employee #. They were offering sero plans to everyone but when I login today, it saids --order by phone today and the # to call is 888-882-4030. They had the 700wx for $199.99 and the 755p for $279.99.

JHClagg 05-22-2007 01:43 AM

It's true

Not only is there free txting, but also Ready Link (Walkie-Talkie Function) and Sprint Radio.... I doubt this will help anyone here... Speaking of which, does anyone know a way to get the functions to work on PPCs or Smartphones? I'd be very interested!

Here's a link to the empoyee cheat sheet for the new SERO stuff!
Linky!

wingzero 05-22-2007 07:21 AM

Thanks for the info JHClagg. Sprint Mobile Broadband card for $29.99 a month is pretty good deal.

xclusiv_1 05-23-2007 09:25 AM

i just called and updated my sero plan to unlimited text messages!!!!!

it was easiest thing ive ever done!!!!!

AstainHellbring 05-23-2007 09:48 AM

Anyone have any tips for getting ecare to switch you to a sero plan so I can take advantage of the free texts?

Wideawake 05-23-2007 10:33 AM

Thank you so much wing for posting this! I was successful at removing both 5 dollar packages and getting unlimited for free! w00t w00t. :P

here's what I wrote...
Quote:

Im currently on the SERO plan at the 2743 number and just got it on the 4118 line. Now the SERO plan has changed to include unlimited text, which I had to add 300 to each of my lines since I text a good bit. I love my sprint service and the new EVDO towers in my town are great, but I was wondering if there would be anyway possible to get the 300 text package removed and the free unlimited added on both lines? Also does this expire or would it continue for as long as the contract? Thanks for any help in advanced!

anyone knows the code for this?

MojoSwag 05-23-2007 04:45 PM

Code for what bunnytrigger????

Perasite 05-23-2007 05:00 PM

Right now I'm on a family plan with 5 phones total. Luck would have it that my Dad just switched plans last month so we are ALL now locked into another 2 year agreement. I am considering asking him to switch again to a lower one, and just pay him the $10 each month for my phone and my wife's. Then I can open 2 new sero accounts to get in on this (I'll of course wait until June 18 so that the new phone I get on this sero account will be the 6800.) Is there a better way to get the sero if I already have a Sprint account (going on 6 years now with Sprint. You'd think I could get something out of them.)
Edit: Did you notice that all the device prices are effective until 6/17. Maybe that means there will be new devices on 6/18 (6800!)

Wideawake 05-23-2007 05:11 PM

yuma u could cal *2 until u got a rep to switch u that's what I done for both of my lines. one about a year ago and one about a month ago.
Best of luck,
Mike

MojoSwag 05-23-2007 10:28 PM

Yuma, I used to work at a Sprint call center, and it says in the details that existing customers can switch over to the SERO plan but they will have to pay an early term. fee if they are under contract already to do so.

That being said, if you do call in, in order to get the best results, ask to speak to retention. They can put you on it because they are afraid that you'll cancel the contract.

Wideawake 05-23-2007 10:37 PM

I didn't have to pay any fees when switching and both the lines were existing....weird :?
~mike

MojoSwag 05-24-2007 01:40 AM

Thats the funny thing about the call centers. We have a database that has all of our procedures and according to that we're not supposed to do it, but there are some reps that will "bend" the rules if you're hard on them. On the other hand, you might have just been routed to the retention dept by the automated system. I was just a regular rep and I couldn't even add anyone onto the SERO plan if I wanted to to. You got away with one Mike!

rhacy 05-24-2007 02:51 PM

Cheers wingzero! Many thanks for the heads up.

On that note, I emailed ecare and received this confirmation below.

"Thank you for contacting Sprint regarding the unlimited text messaging
option in the Sero Plan.

I have added the free Unlimited SMS Text Messages option to your
account. This will be effective on May 24, 2007. You can verify this
change after 4 hours in the Plan Details section of your online account.

This option will always remain on the account with the Sero Plan.
Satisfaction of the agreement does not result in any changes to your
account. Therefore, the benefits of the agreement will continue even
after its satisfaction. You will continue to be on the same plan and options
with the same monthly recurring charge, unless you request a change.

Thank you for contacting us. Have a great day.

Welcome guys. Glad I could help. My brother just switched his existing line to the sero plan last Monday with no problem. Althought he had to call three times, but it's worthed. And now with the unlimited text, this plan is now complete. If anyone is feeling lucky, you could try emailing ecare and ask for FIMF.

MojoSwag 05-24-2007 07:39 PM

I gotta agree with WingZero on this one. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and time on the phone and just shoot an email to Ecare if you want to get things done in the fastest possible way

chuque 05-25-2007 06:00 PM

email sent. I have never contacted sprint via e-mail before always opting to call either *2 or the employee accounts line. What is the expected turn arouynd time for them? I currently have 500 sms comped for another 6 months, seeing as this is unlim and for the life of the account, I hope it gets added.

GirlGoneGeek 05-27-2007 01:17 AM

awesome

I am thrilled to have not only the SERO plan but also now the unlimited texting. Its great Thanks to all who helped me

I emailed about this after seeing this thread; I hope they do it for me. I'm currently paying $5 for 300 or whatever, but free would be lovely.

**update

Yep! They removed my $5 plan and gave me unlimited text messaging. So awesome.

jparks29 06-17-2007 03:29 AM

OK, so is it a limited time promotion? Or is it once it's on your plan, its always on there... ??

PerfectHybrid 06-17-2007 11:39 AM

So Question of the day, can someone link me to the sero plans? Also what is the best way to switch to sero and maintiain your previous wireless number? ( I am from Verizon and just getting frustrated) Furthermore...can sero compete with what I have right now...(If I switched it would probably be in a few months I think September is when my contract is up)

39.99 (450 anytime)
0.00 (Unlim nights/weekends (start at 9:01 pm -5:59am))
20.00 (800 text plus 100 pic/vid and u.l data)
5.00 (insurance)
20% discount on the 39.99 making it $8 cheaper for a total of like 31.99

If Sprint Sero can beat this and will be more than likely to be able to beat it in September of 07 how would I go about switching to them and keeping my number also what are the pros and cons of sprint as opposed to verizon and sero for that matter. Also do you know if sprint offers military discount on regular lines? And I think this will be it, can you use sero as a base line for a family share line, aka if my parents get a sero plan can my little bros jump on and add a line?

Please and Thanks

PH

Hybrid,
Here's link to the sero website. www.sprint.com/sero But you can no longer sign up online. You have to call in to place the order. The number to call is in the first post of this thread. Sero offers three plans. $30-500min, $50-1250min, and $100-2500min. All plans come with m2m, unlimited nights and weekend starts at 7pm-7am, unlimited power vision, free roaming, unlimited sms (must sign up by June 30,2007). Corporate discount is hit and miss, you'll get it if you get the right rep. Sero is offered till Dec. 31, 2007. Anyone feel free to chime in if I miss anything.

cieje 06-18-2007 09:17 AM

yea, sero would be that plan

$30 for 500 anytime min
unlimited nights and weekends (7pm-7am)
unlimited vision (internet), mms, sms, and all that stuff
$7 phone insurance...

seems pretty awesome to me.

vince22sh 06-18-2007 11:36 AM

anyone knows if texting international is included or extra $?, Just called sprint and have them take off the $5.00 300 text in place of this, at 1st the rep argued that its not free and i told her if i can talked to the supervisor, after a bout 30 seconds she came back and apologize and that i was right!!!lol thanks guys for the info....

boyo 06-19-2007 05:04 AM

I'm currently not on a SERO plan, what would be the process of trying to get on this plan? Just call em up and tell em i want to change my plan to the current SERO plan? This has me kinda excited, it would be saving me $30 a month, before my corporate discount, if i can keep it. But i'll take the SERO over the corporate discount.

wingzero 06-19-2007 10:07 AM

vince22sh--International sms is $.15. I tried sending a sms oversea but my friend never received it, also I didn't receive the one that he send. Anyone had sucess sending sms oversea?

boyo --If you want to keep your old number, try calling *2 and tell them you want to change your plan to the sero plan. But keep in mind that you have to keep calling until you get a nice rep that will change it for you. Good luck.

boyo 06-19-2007 04:14 PM

I just got off the phone with a wonderful rep named Tessa who was more the helpful in changing my plan. I changed it to the 500 min SERO w/ Text, doing so lowered my bill by $30 a month, and added the text messaging. I love it..
Only took me 3 calls to *2 to get it done. I thought it was gonna take ALL day. She didnt mention it renewing my contract, but i'm sure it did automatically, maybe not though. She didnt ask for an employee email or anything. My bill went from $67 to $37 a month (not including taxes or discounts). I'm hoping my corporate discount stays, but again we'll see..

This is possible, I have just completed this for my own customer who wanted to keep his number. He ordered through the website, a new phone and phone number, then when he received the phone, we swapped to his old line and Sprint pushed the contract date to the old date, which was the one he wanted to replace. Since they only do new lines, that's what you have to do. Hope this helps

PerfectHybrid 06-19-2007 11:20 PM

courtney,

sorry i dont understand what that was in regards too! lol sorry :-/ can you explain? I've been all over the place trying to get all the ins and outs of sero and sprint befor ei jump ship so i dont screw myself thanks!!
