Slingbox Questions
 
ok so i was looking at the sling box website and figured i would get some imput.

1. So basicly i can hook this up to my cable and stream it to my phone from anywhere i get service right?
2. which is the best one to get they have a few different ones.


i think i would actully use it alot if i got it. so it would probley be a good investment.

Depends on what signal you are trying to send to your phone. If you have a cable box, TIVO, or satellite receiver, you'll want the Slingbox AV. If just standard cable or antenna, then the Slingbox Tuner. If you want to sling multiple devices, then use the Slingbox Pro.

And you have to hook it up to your cable and internet connection.

it may not be worth it then. because my digital cable box is now where close to my cable modem.

Use a Slingbox tuner at the cable modem, then. The Slingbox tuner has an input and output. Connect your cable to the Slingbox input. Connect the output to the cable modem. Then connect the network port on the Slingbox to an open port on your router. You'll at least get the non-digital channels.

They also have a wireless adapter called the SlinkLink Turbo: http://us.slingmedia.com/page/slinglink_turbo.html

But as 6700Yuma said, I have a splitter for my modem and Slingbox and stream only the basic channels.

yea but i dont want just the basic cable that would be a waste for me.

The wireless adapter will allow you to receive all the channels.
