I disagree... Helping our fellow man is what PPC Geeks is all about... We enable information sharing, and encourage uniqueness... I am happy I can help people out..

I disagree... Helping our fellow man is what PPC Geeks is all about... We enable information sharing, and encourage uniqueness... I am happy I can help people out.. Some people have little to no experience with USB ports or the differences between different sockets... This was to help them out so as to keep confusion down and to also keep people from buying an unnecessary extra plug.. Thank you for your opinion though..

Well, being new to the TP, the ORIGINAL cable might LOOK like a mini usb BUT it has a cut corner... To the novice it would appear to be a totally different cable..
"I" for one appreciate this bit of information.

I agree...with BigDiesel07...we all strive to help and teach, in any ways possible, and to be educated ourselves. The lack of which, would lead to an idiocracy. Not asking a question, assuming rather than sharing, or any other form of laziness and giving up, is dumb, and lame.

I, too, knew that this was possible, but I'm willing to scroll past one more thread, if it's going to save someone $20-$45, depending on the equipment being re-used. Thank you for the post.

Great movie, though, Idiocracy - as Metallica would say, "Sad but True."

That's weird... The mini USB port on the TP and the TP2 are the same... Weird.. Did you have the cable upside down?

Speaking of "re-using", the phone charges off of a USB port, right? I guess you could make a charger with whatever mini usb data cable you had and one of those plug-in wallwarts with a USB socket on it or anything with a powered USB socket on it.
---------
My USB hub is powered so therefore live whether the computer is on or not. I leave the phone plugged into it when I'm at home. It's a nice slow safe phone charger and one less wallwart in the sockets.
