I've been thinking, I have mail2web and my POP3 ISP accounts set up on Pocket Outlook. Can't Gmail be set up as POP3 as well? I think that's how I have it set up on Outlook Express on my PC.

I say this because if it's very important for someone to have outgoing e-mail from their Gmail account but they can't because they forwarded to mail2web, they could set up Gmail as a POP3, turn off auto-check, and just use it to send e-mails.

yes it can be setup as a pop3 but Im not sure if u can forward and email from pop3 at the same time. not sure about this, but if it works it would be a solution to keeping the @gmail.com, which it doesnt matter to me ;)

About the forwarding and still being able to send email.. yeppers it can be done. I have my gmail set to forward to mail2web and have my phone set to only download the first 2k from mail2web and then I manually download the full email via pop to my phone (or just check from the web depending on if I am currently surfing or not).

Sorry if I'm chiming in a little late, but this is a great thread! Thank you very much for the how-to! (Never knew what to set as the domain, so I thought push couldn't be done with the free account).

I need to set up a similar solution that I had on my old Blackberry but I can't seem to find a way to do it that is cost effective...

I have numerous POP accounts, but really I only need one that is pushed to my handheld. I used to have that POP account forward (server-side) to my Blackberry Internet Service push email address. On the setup of that push address, I could change the From/Reply-to field to be that of my POP account. So as far as I or anyone getting the email was concerned, that email was from my POP address, not the @blackberry.net address.

I know I can forward my emails to my mail2web.com push address, but if I reply, it will be sent out as the mail2web.com address. How can I get around it? Is my only way a 3rd party email solution on my handheld or a $10+ a month hosted exchange service? There's got to be something easier, no?

Thanks for any suggestions!

the cheapest way would be to do what's stated above. leave pop3s set up and email outbound from them. while just using mail2web to receive/be pushed. Are u sure u can change the outbound with a paid host? I'm not sure....but I dunno. I figure if u can do that on a paid y not the free. Also 1and1 has a cheaper push, I think. And mala uses something different I think...can't remember what he uses tho....Mala if ur reading this what do u use and how much is the service?

No, its not that I can change the outbound with a paid host, but have that host use my domain for email (which I don't really want to do either).

I can definitely have that address push, but I guess I'm just lazy and don't want to have to change over to my POP address to reply.

Thanks for the info!

Edited: 1and1 looks like a pretty good option! Kudos for that.
