Here's an example of similar troubles involving the iPhone:
http://forums.ilounge.com/archive/in.../t-200180.html These users are not as "ecstatic" as some others. And you'll notice in the thread that many of them are having the same problems reported here. That is, sending PictureMail by emailing to 10digits@service-etc does NOT work reliably, especially with Verizon recipients. It's dramatically slower than "standard" PictureMail. Pictures are frequently bounced with no reasonable explanation. You need to know the recipient's service provider. And more. I've now tested a dozen pictures using "Picture Forwarding" and it seems to work perfectly. It's a little more work than I would like, but not a show-stopper. See my earlier messages in this thread. |

Sprint MMS Workaround (For Now)
In case any of you don't know already these instructions should help to anyone who needs to send pictures to other carriers as well. Yes, it's sort of a pain, but it works for now.
Step 1. Set up an email address, for outgoing mail put smtp.sprint.com and check the require authentication box. set it for 15 minutes or to your liking. Step 2. Find out the carriers from your contacts. (sprint, verizon, t-mobile, etc...) The hard way Ive been able to figure out only 4 of the major carriers email format, which in miami there is only 5 ... here they go.. Sprint: 10digitphone#@pm.sprint.com Verizon: 10digitphone#@vzwpix.com Cingular: 10digitphone#@mms.mycingular.com T-Mobile: 10digitphone#@tmomail.net Alltel: 10digitphone#@message.alltel.com Step 3. compose a new email, send it to your contact which has the following format and when is sent, it will either be sent in 15 minutes or press right soft key, send/receive to send it right away... the user will receive it the same way they always have... |
Or If Ur On Sprint Which We're The Only Fargin Ppl That Can't Do Mms, Just Email It To Urself & Then All U Have To Do Is Forward To The Number Of Whom U Want It To Go To Keeping U From Trying To Remember Who's On What Carrier & The Address As Well...
