Call Forwarding: Who Gets Charged?
Ok, so I work for Radioshack and I have 2 phones on employee plans..
Have a Sprint and an AT&T.. Currently have my AT&T line (ROKR E6) Forwarding calls to my Sprint (HTC Touch).. Different friends use different services, but id like to know which service I lose minutes on, and what service my friends lose minutes on when doing the call forwarding.. Since my AT&T line is forwarded, do my friends on AT&T get the call for free since they called my AT&T phone that is forwarded to Sprint? Billed to AT&T or Spint? If a friend on Sprint calls the AT&T # is it a free call since its forwarded to my Sprint phone? Help would be much appreciated.. |
As far as I know call forwarding does not affect your friends at all. If you forwarded your AT&T number to your Sprint number and a friend calls your AT&T number from their AT&T number, then they get the call for free (as long as they have AT&T mobile to mobile, or something like that).
Also, if someone calls your AT&T number you will get minutes deducted from both the AT&T and Sprint numbers, plus a surcharge from AT&T for forwarding the call. It basically works like the AT&T number calls the Sprint number in order to forward the call... and of course AT&T won't pass the chance of charging you for the extra service. I could be wrong, but this is my understanding of the service. |
^^ This is correct. A surcharge will be charged on the AT&T phone and/or any applicable minutes will be deducted from the AT&T plan for the length of each call fowarded to Sprint. This is in effect regardless of who is calling you, as long as the phone is forwarded.
