Kill ActiveSync on Phone?

I have the T-Mobile USA HTC HD2, latest stock ROM, WinMo 6.5, Sense UI.

I notice, whenever I run Task Manager, that ActiveSync is always running, even when not connected to the computer, no ActiveSync connection, no need for it to be running.

I can kill it with Task Manager, but it starts right up again.

I figure it is a waste of memory, and probably shortens battery life as well, ot have ActiveSync running all the time, when not needed.

Is there any tweak one can do, registry edit, .ini file edit, etc., in order to not have ActiveSync run all the time on the phone, but only when one actually needs it for syncing?
