I really think there needs to be an archival clause or something, kinda like a library. cuz I bet its really hard to find the roms for some of those older models.

Shaggy this is for dumping the rom and then using the packages from the original roms and then repacking it to third party roms which actually work. Having a shipped archival clause should not be an issue.

This has nothing to do with custom ROMs. HTC just want's people to get their ROMs from their site. Makes sense because of the recent virus/trogan thing, wouldn't want a bunch of people downloading the official ROM that's been packed with a virus from another site and then having it look bad for them. Maybe if the whole flashing this may F up your phone and its your problem disclaimer that comes with every ROM was there it wouldn't be a problem, but then that's saying the official ROM might be bad so I'm with HTC on this. Little bad publicity now from misunderstanding (actually not bothering to read) on the consumers part to stop a potentially horrible publicity.

Well it says that they are suing for intellectual properties. Since android kernals are not theirs, it makes sense to say that they are suing for Sense UI and the various syncs that are not available in non-htc phones.

Not only that, they feel like the big dog in town now now that they have the best phone on the market and have a pending case against Apple.

Guys, geez, no one is getting sued here. I talk to conflipper daily. And all it is, is a few roms on his site that are not publicly released yet so they are sending him a list of roms they wish for him to take down. RELAX no one is getting sued.
