iPhone 4 rollout bugs...

http://www.businessinsider.com/iphone-4-problem-2010-6

These already seem to be a bit more serious than the ones we (EVO users) faced....

Looks like EVO may beat IP4 on drop test ("pocket height" vs. "a foot")

Re: iPhone 4 rollout bugs...

I knew putting glass on both sides of the phone was a bad idea... On top of that, the 'thin' aspect that they're pushing as a feature will be all but nullified when users have to put an Otterbox on their phone just to keep the back glass from shattering!

I actually had a guy at work yesterday tell me that the iPhone 4 was better than my phone, without even knowing that I've got an Evo. I've also heard multiple times that iPhone 4 means it's got 4G! Man that stupidity of fanboys...

Helicopter glass 20x stronger than plastic? I guess they only used that for the front..

It's weird it loose reception when you touch it, I used to actually hold my antennae on my old flip phones to get better signal.

At least it isn't the complaint of the old Bell Kitchen phones... "when I put it up to my face, it hangs up..."

Like with throwing a brick at it? Shoot, you throw a brick at my phone it will get crushed from one end to the other, let alone crack my screen.. :-s

Isn't it bad enough your phone is on a icrap network that you now have to hold your left leg up in the air and move your right arm to a 60 degree angle to use the phone left handed. Great one Steve. Have fun lefty. Maybe they will have a rabbit ears adapter come out for it. Or maybe you can do this..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6wYp...eature=related

It don’t matter, I always put my phones in a case anyways. These drop tests are all BS. The fact is most people when they accidently drop a phone usually do it over carpeting at home or grass/dirt outside so nothing really happens anyways. How often are you dropping your phones on hard concrete? That never happened to me my whole life, all the drops I’ve had were when the phone slides of a couch and falls on my carpeted floor.

The reason I get a case and screen protector is not because of breakage, I do it so their won’t be any scuff marks or scratches on the phone so that I can resell my phones on eBay for a high price while I upgrade to newer phones.

Why can't you just accept the fact that it is an obvious issue and quit making excuses for the company?

There was a guy buying a "band" at Best Buy this morning. He had experienced signal fading so he was buting a band that wraps around the metal casing.

I'm not making excuses, I was just saying the drop tests are BS for any phone. If the phone has issues, I'll have it exchanged, I got a warranty and 30 day money back guarantee.

You guys need to relax and get laid, these are only phones. Another 6 months they'll be something nicer and I'll move on to that. I hate losers who get all hung up on something. Android, iphone, WinMo, they all the same to me, I have no allegiance to anyone but myself.

Re: What is Apple thinking right now?

I was so mad when I read this ON LINE at the Apple store, but I bought the bumper and it seems to fix the problem since your skin isnt making contact with the metal. I tried to duplicate the problem and can't so I'm ok. A few minutes ago I read that the bumper is a fix so I'm lucky I bought it.

I will be HIGHLY ANGRY if I break the glass though, that's just ridiculous.

*- to be fair, multiple tests with drops of as far as 5 feet have been shown to not break the glass, that is the only report I saw of the glass shattering. Either way i hope to never find out.

I love the recent post by engadget- 'Apple says hold the phone differently' LOL

Sorry its direct from Apple

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC...co=MTM3NTI0ODg

I don't like it though, the hole for the dock connector is too small and some docks and cables don't fit right with it, so I'm going to try the iFrogz

This drop test on concrete is a great way to test the durability of a phone because guess what, a lot of dropped phones happen in the city.

Don't you work, talk and walk in the city? Well i do and sometimes it slips out of my hands when somebody bumped me.
You know how many dunk people talk in the phone in the city?

Again, not everyone lives at home or in a park.

I live in the suburbs of Detroit, the last thing I worry about is dropping my phone in the city, I'm more worried about getting shot or mugged than anything else. Luckily I work and live in a nice suburb, so dropping the phone on concrete isn't a big issue. But today my phone did slip from the coach a few times and hit the carpet and luckily it was fine. :)

haha :laughing6:
yeah getting home safely in any bad parts of the city is far more important then a cracked screen.
If i was ever getting mugged i hope that when i throw my phone at them it would crack and the glass shards would end up in their face.

I cant take credit for that, but thought it was funny and wanted to share

You'll be safe from unexpected consequences by putting some rubber around it.
