Bricked or what?
 

Somebody please tell me that there is a way to get my phone to work without restoring and lossing everything...ever since i Jail broke my phone ive had nothing but problems.. i wish i would have never done it...Im stuck on the apple screen ...](*,)](*,)](*,)

It's almost impossible to brick an iPhone.

plug the phone in to your computer via USB, put it into recovery mode (hold power + home key for 10 seconds, then let go of the power key and continue holding home).

When it is in recovery mode, you can restore it using the 3.1.2 ipsw, but this will erase your data, but it will be like a clean flash and it won't be jailbroken.

if you don't want to do that, then download blackra1n, plug in your iPhone ot your pc and click "make it ra1n" and it should get it turned back on just fine.

Let me know. Also, which iPhone were you on, on which firmware?

I cant loose my date ill go crazy!... I tried the make it rain...It just stays on the waiting for device and never starts.... NOTHING seems to wanna work for me man

it isent even noticeing my iphone is connected... i cant even click the jailbreak it says please connect device

put it into DFU mode first.

hold power AND home key for 10 seonds. Let go of power but coninue holding the Home key till you see it go into DFU mode (bottom right of your computer taskbar area)

now try Spirit.

if i open itunes and it notices it in recovery mode..that means dfu right? if so i have it in that mode right now.

OK so have you tried using blackra1n and Spirit on it while in recovery?

unplug the phone from your PC,

Hold the power button for like 10-20 seconds, if nothing happens try it again (I once had this happen to me, I did this like 3 times and it turned on fine).

Let me know if this does nothing. there are still more steps we can take here, don't worry you're not bricked :)

I know that ususally in dfu mode it shows the connect to itunes picture...mine just looks like its turned off

ive tried holding these buttons every way possible for up to like 30 secs..lol.... i just tried what yu said...holding for 20secs like 3 diff times...nothing....

did you try it with the home key as well?

I have to get back to work for now, but I will get you back up and running (probably without having to erase any data) later on today. No worries.

I got the connect to itunes screen to pop up on the phone and the blackrain started and now that picture of blackrain is just stuck on my screen.... i couldnt get spirit to read it though

OK good, now turn off the phone and turn it back on (blackra1n was supposed to do this automatically)

it went away and the apple popped back up with the spinning load bar or whatever that is and then it just turned off and the battery charge popped up..

charge it for a half hour then turn it on again.

When you get it up and running back up ALL of your data, then reflash the 3.1.2 IPSW and use blackra1n again, you should be fine and ready to rock, but you've had too much funkiness not to reflash at this point.

lol, I think Steve Jobs is sitting behind a curtain with a remote switch just messing with you now.

wait for a half hour or so, then try the turn off/back on thing.

that's not abnormal for the first 10 mins or so. If it is plugged in it should turn on now (or at least give you the Apple logo),

does it still show charge meter?>

but I still cant make it leave this screen and the only way it notices blackrain is if i accidently get the itunes connect to pop up and then open black rain

should be pretty well charged now.

I would leave it alone for an hour or two (if it's hot) and try again later.

hold both the power + home key and try to get it on (or back to itunes recovery), then either try blackra1n, or holding power + home again.

Nothing Is Working... Ive tried everything you suggested numerous times... i feel cut off from the world I havent been able to use my phone all day

Just pressing the power button...or home button alone does nothing no matter how long i hold onto them together or seperate

I have to hold both of them together..some times it wont even turn on.. and the times that it does either the apple comes up... or the itunes connect

That's a sad story. :(

Note I am trying to help you without erasing any data, we could just reflash 3.1.2 and it would work pretty quickly.

also note sometimes you literally have to hold power + home (same time) for a whole minute (60 seconds) before it kicks out of DFU (which is the mode you are in)

try it one more time just to humor me :)

I hold it for a minute and the itunes connect comes up.... Thats where its at right now

good.

now the itunes screen mode is called "recovery"

1. Connect iPhone and your PC/Mac, quit iTunes.

2. Hold Power and Home for 10 seconds (use a clock or count "mississippi")

3. Let go of Home button but keep holding Power until the Apple logo comes up.

4. Let go of Power button, the iPhone will boot

DFU = nothing on the screen but says "DFU" in computer.

Recovery = connect to itunes screen .

im on windows 7 and ive never seen anything anywhere on the screen that says dfu... the only way i have been able ta manage to get blackrain to even notice the iphone is when it is in connect to itunes mode
