Android for Verizon?

I told my Verizon store that I didn't want to upgrade to a piece of crap phone from my Alltel Touch Diamond and started asking about the TP2 and Imagio... My local Verizon store told me that although they have the TP2 and the Imagio, they would strongly recommend me wait about a month before I did anything with phones with them since I seemed to know a lot about computers and phones...

I was like... Why?
He said "Verizon has a new Android that is being released..."

So I went home and researched it... Turns out there are rumors of this... and October 30th seems to be a rumored date.

Let's do some digging. Does anyone know anything about this new phone?

I mean other than the obvious stuff like it has a built in bluetooth, touch screen, pop corn popper, hot chocolate maker and a portable microwave, does any one else know anything?

Re: Android for Verizon?

Yeah I just saw the droiddoes commercial and went online. I had heard they were going to be releasing an android phone but didn't know they had a commercial for it. Hope its worth the wait. But I'm sure it will be.

Re: Android for Verizon?

The news that most people probably know but if you don't, two phones are coming. HTC Hero which runs a TF3D (touch flo 3D) UI much like other HTC phones, lying over the Android platform. The second is the Motorola Droid (Shole) Which by what I've read is the one in the picture you have here and Android developers have worked closely with Motorola to make it as true to pure Android as possible. So the big question is. Amazing nice looking phone with amazing proven UI, which is the HTC OR a 1940's Russian mock up of what a bad phone should look like, Motorola Droid. Supposedly the Droid is so open that developers from XDA, and the like will have HTC's UI Flashed for the Droid. But that still won't make it look any better. But you know design, it eventually starts to look good after it's been out a while. I bought the Ford Flex and a lot of people hate the style. But it grows on you. So I really hope the Droid grows on me because I would prefer the pure Android Experience.

Re: Android for Verizon?

The specs on the Droid are far superior than the specs we see on Sprint's Hero. The droid is built from the ground up for performance, aesthetics aside.
