Attention QVGA Device Owners – You Got Swype!

Swype has been one of the most revolutionary keyboards for mobile devices since the introduction of Android. The Swype project has grown considerably over the past couple of years and it has become one of Android’s must have apps. The downfall was that due to limitations in the coding and licensing, only certain devices were allowed to have the keyboard installed. One big hurdle that is usually a factor when porting apps was the screen resolution, and because of this, QVGA devices did not have the chance to sport this keyboard. According to a thread started by XDA member NickHu, Swype seems to be pro-actively developing backwards as well in an attempt to include the few remaining devices with smaller screen resolutions. In this new beta update, QVGA devices are finally being supported by the keyboard. According to several members, the app works wonderfully well and has a UK English dictionary as an added bonus.
Please keep in mind that the app is in beta, and you will probably need to register in the Swype beta program in order to use it. Any feedback about performance will be greatly appreciated.

(As an added bonus, UK English dictionaries!)

Happy swyping!
