I just bought the Incredible...which it is not...at least moving from a TP2...it should have been called the Desire...or the Cool because it is just that...I am more annoyed with the fact that apps like Fusion VM have banner ads and I would have to pay $2 to have it removed! They make enough money from ads from the net, leave them off of the apps we download for our mobile phones!

ahm..giving out things for free with no revenue model usually gets business out of business..vmware is a company with employees..how do you expect them to pay their employees if they give everything for free without banner ads or something?

If you don't want to pay for it or have banners make the app yourself.

Can't you just not "sync" your calendar, like I don't on Windows Mobile? And you can't turn GPS off? Doesn't that kill battery life?

I don't know folks but I have a bad feeling about Android. I can't put my finger on it right now but I just think it seems like Google is becomeing big big brother. But in actuality it's not like every phone call you make, ever email you send, every text and forum post you make, basically all things done with anything electronic isn't recorded.
Hell, even your copy machines record every copy you make...
If someone really wants to find out what you're up to, it's not hard at all.

There's no privacy in the world anymore unless you become Amish, and even then I could look down on you with a satellite or a remote controlled spy plane that you won't even know is above you.

I just wanted to post that I agree. Google is taking over the world and I am glad to see that at least a couple of people realize it. Google is very much becoming like apple in that they have fan boys and girls that cant see anything wrong with the company and/or their products (not saying that there currently is). However when google does go crazy I'm glad to say that I have an android phone and that I will be the first person to sign up for the class action lawsuit stemming from google's disregard for privacy laws. The only thing that sucks is by that time they will have so much money and power that they will almost certainly win any lawsuit.

Anyway just my 2 cents

I have to agree with the whole privacy invasion, but my take on the situation is that if the Government wants to find me they won't have any problems finding me anyways. I use Cell phones, I use Credit Cards, I have bank accounts, I have a job. If you are concerned about the government and business tracking you then you would have to move out of the country or go with a prepaid plan without internet capabilities. When someone wants to find out about me they can search any search engine and find my home phone number, address, and if are willing to pay find anything else about me. Whether it is Google's Android, Microsoft Windows Mobile, Black Berry, Apple's Iphone anyone with any type of power from the govt or business can find you very easily. I certainly don't like it but that is the way it is, what can be done? I love my smart phones and don't plan on stopping my usage anytime soon.

The only thing that really makes me kind of nervous about it is that pretty much EVERYTHING on the phone needs to know your location when it updates. I mean seriously.. why does it need to ping my location just to update handcent sms? lol
