There are a few known bugs;
The HTC TaskBar is in front of the Time on the top status bar.
Volume icon is displayed as ".
The Spinning dots is constantly being displayed on home screen.
Programs aren't closing on 'X', just being hidden.

I will show current status of my ROM's as I continue to learn, hack, and improve my ROM's.

Try to keep the complaints to a minimum, and keep the solutions to the problems coming. If you can't help improve it, than use one of the other ROM's available.

I do most of my cooking for the TP and Diamond but my wife has a Treo Pro and I have some experience if I can be of any help. You can try this in order to fix the HTC Overlay issue (if you want to HTC instead of default)

Here is the oem to make the HTC Task manager icon transparent.... Let me know if this helps... I am over in the touch pro section. I just started a new thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...91#post1242791

Also I have found these 23XXX and higher builds with the new UI are really tough to work with. Mostly do to theme issues... Kudoos to you for taking this on...

DUDE i love your ROM. It is so much better than CFay's 6.5.1 ROM!
I love itt.
Only thing bothering me is the HTC Task Manger is distorted in the homescreen.
Anyway to fix that?
Other than that I plan on keeping this ROM installed.

Thank you for this ROM!

Great work guys. Quick question that I didn't see answered before. Does a new rom fix the Treo Pro issue with regards to not ringing ocassionaly (The Ringer Fix issued by Palm earlier in the summer)? I noticed when I reverted back to the stock rom, I still could not apply this fix, getting an invalid software version error. Thanks!

For those using this ROM, could you please let me know about the memory usage.

Re: MatBee 6.5 ROM - 5.2.23071

My memory is about 22 MB free after being on for a while, and after a reset it is about 33 MB.

Is this with your own programs running, and using my supplied cabs? I'm averaging 32MB free after 24hrs usage and Exchange running.

likearaptor 10-19-2009 11:38 AM

Re: MatBee 6.5 ROM - 5.2.23071

That is with Treo Pro Alerts, Exchange, and the Showcase app running in the background. I'm not sure long term how it is, I flashed it last night so I haven't had much time to see averages. If I run the cleanRAM app it cleans the memory to 24 - 25 MB. But a reset will always get me back to 33 with all three apps running above.

Sorry I forgot to mention this, yes I am using the three cabs you have on the first post also.

I get about 33mb of free ram on reset.
Pretty good for my taste :)

Re: MatBee 6.5 ROM - 5.2.23071

Hello,

I appreciate your work. Before I proceed, What are the differences between your ROM and CFay's 6.5.1, aside of the ROM versions? I'm new to Windows Mobile and I don't know what would be the etiquette for asking chefs this kind of question. I don't know if this is something like "Try it and you should know" instead of a list of improvements before doing a hard reset to install.

Thank you very much for your help.

Guys i've tried everything to get either of my computers (one is win xp, other is win 7) to recognize my phone in bootloader mode. Neither machine will. Its unlocked and flashable cuz i was able to flash the posted stock rom as a test. I get into boot loader mode and it starts at 0% but never progresses. Same thing happend when i try to flash from SD card. I dont know if its these computers or my phone. Anyone have similar experiences? I've tried every conbination of plugging and unplugging USB throughout the process, no luck!

Simple solution: take the ruu_signed.nbh file in the RELEASE_PANT200 folder of the ROM and rename it to PANTIMG.nbh, copy it over to the root directory of a FAT32 formatted microSD card and insert the SD into the phone. Then, enter bootloader and the flashing should start automatically.

A few caveats:
  1. if the SD card is not formatted to FAT32 file system, it will not work. Not all of them are, I had to reformat mine for it to work. A fast format is OK, though, you don't have to do a full format.
  2. once your SD card is formatted, it doesn't matter if there's anything else in it, as long as the PANTIMG.nbh file is on the root folder, this will work.
  3. the process will not erase the nbh file from the SD card, so if you re-enter bootloader mode, it will prompt you again for the upgrade. Remember to erase the file manually to recover space and prevent inadvertent flashing.
  4. THIS PROCESS WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON THE PHONE'S INTERNAL MEMORY. Please make sure you have a backup of all your data. I use MyPhone to do this, the only thing not backed up is Notes, for some reason. The data on the SD card will not be harmed in any way.

Well, I hope this helped.

all i can say is WOW. my treo is amazing now, this rom is tops. so good, in fact, sprint could just put it on their website and allow everyone to use it. they wont of course, but my god.. if you have a treo pro THIS IS THE ROM YOU WANT.

DONATION SENT!

thanks again!

Do you make this statement based on using other custom ROMS or is this your first Treo Pro flashing? I have used all of the CFAY ROMS and am considering trying this ROM even though it is in its first rendition.

Just wondering what else you have tried.

Also, did you apply the four bug fixes from the first post?

thanks for your feedback

I've used all the ROMs available (CFAY 6.1, 6.5, 6.5.1, Sprint update, Raven's kitchen, and my OEM Spanish ROM), and I can honestly say that this is better than those. It's snappier and less crashprone that the others, plus the interface is better than 6.1... it actually handles with the speed of my original 6.1 ROM with the 6.5 interface. AND .NET works great.

Please bear in mind that I do not use Titanium, as I use several Today plugins I couldn't live without.

I did apply the bug fixes, but my HTC task icon is still visible... a small price if you ask me.

Cheers

Re: MatBee 6.5 ROM - 5.2.23071

i make my statement after trying a couple CFAY roms and a long-time user of wm5 and wm6.1. this rom is better then any rom i have ever used, oem roms or homebaked. everything is included, it all works, and its extremely fluent. its exactly what you would expect from sprint if they released wm6.5.1 to the treo pro themselves.

Opera doesnt work, IE crashes the phone when I use the directional buttons. The "close all" button is overlapped by the time on the today screen. This ROM is alright, but 1.52 is still better.

1) Opera works flawlessly.

2) IE functions just fine for me, using the directional buttons.

3) The quick Task Manager wasn't developed for this build.

As I've said, please voice complaints and requests in the other post.

So since one person says that he prefers another rom, now your going to stop... dont forget everyone else who appreciates your work and uses your roms.

It's great to see that more people are taking up the challenge of making roms.

Well, he was pressured by being the only one releasing ROM's. He also didn't like leaving his ROM's broken. He's said dozens of times that he no longer owns a Treo Pro so he would be out of the PTP cooking business.

I released mine because; I own a Treo and I don't want to see the PTP scene die before it has a chance to show what it can do.

So let's see some more cooks, please. [-o<

Yea, thats what I was talking about... It looks like the task manager icon is overlapped by the time. When you tap on it though it brings up a different menu. Dont get me wrong, this is a better looking ROM than the other one, but it requires a bit of work to get it working right. Even then, I still couldnt get Opera and IE to work right. Opera wouldnt even load, and IE would crash the phone once I touched the directional button. Reflashed to 1.54 and it worked right out of the box.

This worked for me: Tap the time/Task manager space and the WM 6.5 icon bar will appear, now, tap and hold on the same space and the bar will disappear, revealing the HTC task manager menu when you release the press.

Hope this helped.
