IconROM Win 6.5 CE OS 5.2.23563 Build - Update 05/15

ok have run the ROM a whole day and looked for any funky issues and here's my update so far:

1.) ringers work (so far no issues, and no ringer update needed as of yet)

2.) phone canvas that the 5/15 version has is what i have always liked personally and locks the screen like i like it to with buttons in correct locations etc etc.

3.) mp4 ringer files are still "unknown" but they do work. they do play in media player too so the "unknown" part is comnfusing me, because in 6.1 they had .mp4 extension listed.

hope that helps. thanks again for a great build and about time to see the square buttons along with another ROM builders version. looks sleeker and matches opera buttons actually. anything else you need me to test i'm here.

Do we still have to mess with Carrier cabs, ringer updates, PRL files or anything else with the 5/15 file? Is there a task manager on the homescreen or can we atleast bind a button to the app?

I didn't need to do anything with Carrier cab, ringer update or PRL file with 5/15. (That being said, I don't think it hurts to do a PRL and Profile update once flashed.)

No visible TM on today screen. But, if you press and hold down the OK button, the HTC task manager will come up. There you can select tapping X closed app if you want. I actually prefer the WM task manager myself, so I find it's shortcut in my Windows file and copy that to my Start Menu/Programs folder. From there, I choose it instead of the HTC TM to open when I hold OK.

What is the purpose of the PRL and Profile updates.
I tried running the PRL program and I got the message that the PRL could not be updated. Error Code 407

I got the some error when trying to run the Update profile program.

I get those error messages sometimes, too. Just keep trying them and sometimes a soft reset helps, too.

My understanding is that the PRL update makes sure you have the latest Preferred Roaming List of towers which could help with reception (perhaps) if your in an area with new tower coverage.

I use the Profile app after I flash, etc. to make sure my data settings are correct. I've had problems in the past with my Touch Pro with my data connection after some flashes and that straightened that out.

No, you don't have to mess with carrier cabs, ringer updates.

I use side push button to open taskmanager. Go to Start->Settings->Personal->Buttons. Scroll down to Push Side and select task Manager from the dropdown. If the taskmanager is already assigned to some other button, you need to change that first.

I am installing the standalone cab for the PRL update even though it shows in the settings already. Hopefully that fixes it. I have done the soft reset several times and It seems liek I get a different error code each time. I also hope that installing the app over the current app doesn't booger it up.

r u roaming? cuz u cant update that kinda stuff(PRL/data profile) while roaming....

you can install Showcase task manager if you want to enable "close on X"..also can add it to the taskbar. You can find it over at xda.

If you only want to close with X, it uses less RAM than Showcase.
