Re: IconROM Win 6.5 CE OS 5.2.23563 Build

Thank you guys for posting issues and comments. Sprint ringer fix cab did fix the issue of incoming ringer issue for me. I'll try to tweak the rom and hopefully post an update tonight.

Update: Sprint Profile and PRL will be included in the update.

Thank you guys for your patience.

1. I'm not a 'techy', so all this is fairly new to me. (only done 6-7 rom upgrades)
2. Issues I've been having are that I'm not receiving incoming calls, nor am I even connecting to the Sprint Network. However, if I press 1 (as if I'm checking vm) all of a sudden, the phone connects and updates. At that point texts along with vm's come in and I see that I've missed quite a bit of incoming info.
3. Internet works amazing, there haven't been ANY issues and it's super fast.
4. Signal strength is always at 'no bars'.
5. Performed a hard reset, this didn't alleviate any of the issues.

I'm assuming that something didn't go right when loading the initial rom. I see that you've made some adjustments today to the MMS along with a few other tweaks.

I'm going to re-install from scratch and follow all of your instructions exactly

Thanks again for your help! For people such as myself, you're work is really appreciated. I'd much rather learn from all of you, and try to upgrade my phone the way I want it, then go back to Sprint and hand them over another few hundred $'s!!!

Update- Reloaded everything from scratch. Same issues. Installed ringer fix, didn't resolve issue.

Phone is still not registering to sprint network. In fact when I looked in SETTINGS> SYSTEM, the phone is dated for Sep 2009, apprx 11am on the Eastern time zone. Not where I'm located, which tells me that my phone just isn't picking up the service.

Thoughts or fixes before I just scrap everything and go back to another ROM?
Have you tried the Sprint Profile and PRL update cab I posted in post number 7? If not, might want to install, reset, and then try the Profile Update in Settings/System. I'm not sure but maybe it might help with your Sprint/Connection issues. (I'm not particularly Techie, either.)

Re: IconROM Win 6.5 CE OS 5.2.23563 Build

Yes. Actually, just did that. Didn't do anything. Odd thing is, evidently my texts are being sent and received by someone else.

Going to attempt one more time from scratch and see what happens. Not sure it matters, but when I referenced 'following the directions exactly' before, all I've been doing for all of these ROMS is saving the file to desktop and then running the ROM update utility. As opposed to bootloader.exe as referenced in the original post. While I tried doing that, my phone wouldn't kick over to the bootloader. Since installing Cmonex's CDMA HSPL, I've been able to install ROM's by doing it this way.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm looking forward to the 24 voicemails I now have on my phone!

I ended up setting up my settings on a 6.5 or 6.1 machine, saving the REG entries with Sashimi, and then have it set up to automatically re-import these settings after each hard reset or restoration. Not perfect but it's working for me.

Was the other ROM you were/are using 6.5.x also? If so, did it work on it as you wanted?
I was using BigE's 1/31 which I think is 6.5.5. If this is only a problem with MemMaid, I can copy the registry and then restore. Questions:

1. Have you had the soft button problem with any other software in ICON's ROM?

2. Have you had any other problems with ICON's ROM?

3. Exactly which registry entries did you copy over?

Thanks.

Re: IconROM Win 6.5 CE OS 5.2.23563 Build

tomdt:

Sounds like you have a corrupted PRL file. Connect your Pro to your PC and make sure you are able to use the internet via Activesync/etc and then update your PRL. If not, good luck; the ability to have Sprint techs update PRL's have been taken away, so you'll need a replacement.

Option B requires some effort on your part.
You MUST have your MSL. If you do, download 60650 from http://www.corolada.com/prl/ and then type ##3282# I think there was an option somewhere to manually load your PRL. If that doesn't work, see Sprint.
