You just gotta install THIS .cab file after flashing, it was posted on the first page :) maybe i should make a reference to it for you newbies!! You can also always set up a sprint connect by going in to start/settings/connections/connections -> "add a new modem connection" -> name connection "Power Vision" and select "Cellular Line" -> enter "#777" as the number -> leave "username", "password", and "domain" fields blank!
I figured i would post the steps as you might need them in your ROM flashing ventures! Good Luck

I ran into that problem on mine too that the camera button wasn't working, and it turns out that under Settings -> Personal -> Buttons, the camera button is mapped to bring up the camera app only on long press of the button, and not normal press. Changing that fixed it for me.

Oh thanks a lot on that. I had thought I might be missing something like that, but in your first post instructions, it said that "Sprint crap removed" was available as an attachment, so I'd figured all the attachments with Sprint in their name were the Sprint crap. :mrgreen:

thx for the fyi, with that being said, i attached the "push side button" cab. it will allow u to assign a program by jus pushing the side button instead of holding it....for example, my push side button assignment launches e-natives...holding it launches the camera

It's really working well for me so far. I'm using it with SPB Mobile Shell and everything is smooth.

Haven't seen any crashes yet, either, which is surprising for a Windows Mobile device. I assume eventually I'll see a random crash every now and again though, given this is Windows. Is that probably accurate to assume?

glad its goin good for you!
and yes lockups are generally a part of winmo life (especially when using 6.1 native kernels with 6.5 systems) but a good rom should keep them to nothing more than minor annoyance.

I installed this a few days ago... just wondering how I can get the ringer to work right? When I have it switched to vibrate phone calls will not vibrate, only text. When I have it set to normal calls and text make noise.

How can I get the vibrate to work correctly? As that is what mode I have it on the most.

bluetooth is good. known issues? havnt heard any feedback about issues

have you tried using the RINGER UPDATE? Which ROM are you using?

"Super smooth" was what convinced me to finally throw a custom rom on my Sprint Pro :)

So far, compared to the "stable" Sprint rom, this rocks and is very snappy.

Several questions, may not be related just to this rom though:
1) I have the X button option enabled and it's just not there. I hate using the task manager to close running programs; what am I missing or is this just the way it is?
2) Any icons to show active data usage?
3) And is a clean rom coming of this 6.5.3? There's a lot installed that I'll just never use....

EDIT: Figured 1 of my questions out and removed it.

I have had a REPEATABLE lockup- When I use File Explorer to browse a random directory on my SD card (4GB), it would lock the device up completely. I found that it had to do with the hidden directories left on my card from 6.1 (WM something and MS something). Once I deleted those, I've had no lockups (and the folders have not reappeared) since.

Thanks a lot, the newest Windows Mobile Builds are really good!
1. Its because i have " remove start and X button" registry tweak enabled it can be found HERE, just set the values back to normal (i dont know what they are sorry, i suck with registry stuff)
2. This is due to Mighty Mike's taskbar that i modified, for whatever reason it shows data as active when its not, so there would be the two arrows at the top bar constantly instead of EV or 1x, so i just replaced the arrows icon with 3g icon. It shows when an initial connection is made though....
3. Clean ROM huh? your the first to ask but i wouldn't be against it i suppose.

Ringer update makes sure that the phone rings correctly as it should. If you are using RealVGA and disable the phone canvas however there is a possibility that you lose the ringer. And yes I do cook it in but some programs people install might reset it, ect....

Thanks for the reply. I undid the X button disable and then I did some research on the X button; basically, X is on bottom right instead of top and many programs do not have the ability to change their close location. There's long and lengthy "solutions" or I can just get used to holding OK down to close programs. Sigh. Closing a program down is something where WM has been flawed for years compared to now-competing OSs.

So compared to my 3-4 lockups a day on Sprint's 1.04 stock rom, I'm in heaven. But the pastel colors in messaging and e-mailing me are driving me NUTS; I've tried every theme too so I know I'm just missing something simple. Suggestions?

My profile still says Q9c because that is/was one of the best phones I've ever used and it's still charged and powered up every now-and-then. This is my last resort before switching back....lol.....

oh i see, this does not happen when using original blue theme correct? I believe all the themes i put on have the black background unfortunately. Try installing this theme

I installed the above theme and it's as advertised until I open a message. I have a black background at this point with white letters. This needs reversed and I'll be happy :)

i dont really know what to say... when using the original blue theme i get white background in text field and when using mcarroll pure black i get white as well...

If it's just me then, I'll do a hard reset and go from there.

EDIT:

Same right out of the hard reset, it's doing it. And in the process, my charging port is now loose. This will be my 5th Palm Pro (and I used the PPC6700 for 2 years w/o a replacement!!) so my Sprint store said the next time I come in they will exchange my phone for a different model. I'm thinking the Samsung Intrepid?

That sucks, i went through like 5 touch pros, 4 moguls, and only 2 treos lol
I had the intrepid, its cool, the screen res isnt the best though and its kinda buggy. But it has the capability for custom ROMs because there is an official flash tool for it but no one loves the intrepid :(

Every theme I have tried gives me a black background in my messaging.

Is there any way to fix this? BTW, I am running the 128 DPI version.

I've also had the black background problem, but what i really want to know, is there a way to text more efficiently? atm to send the text, i have to press the send button on the screen with my finger. Is there a way to change like the calendar button to be the send button? Or is there no fix to this problem, and that i'd have to get used to it? Thanks

Yeah, I switched to another theme since the default is hard to read when a text is selected.

The latest version ROM is working great! I like the startup screen too, though some of the icons in the program/start menu look kind of cheap; they could have rounded the corners at least! :P

Sorry for the noob question. I have the latest ROM and I am trying to send pictures. I have the Arcsoft MMS cab installed but it is just giving me an error that it can't send. Should I install the Sprint Picture Mail app? Please help. Thanks

I assume you are on Sprint? And you have a working data connection? You must install the "Remove Arcsoft.cab" and then install the "Sprint Arcsoft.cab" both are linked on the first page

Hi I've been attempting to install the Rom on my TP but it keeps hanging up on error 262. I've read the posts and tried the soft reset and unless I missed something I'm perplexed. I don't know if it will help but the Screen 'Verify that you want to update the Rom Version:' never appears the exe skips to 'You are now ready...' screen. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thks
