3) After your done all that, goto start > settings > system > clear storage.

4) Your Done!

Sometimes the nand chip has troubles when flashing over to new / different roms and has corruption issues.

These steps will ensure a full flush, cleanout of your nand.
If you are still experiencing difficulty try this (or are seeing the image below);
1. Flash one of the shipped/stock ROMs -> http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=91940
2. Relock your phone -> http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=93252
3. Re-unlock with the HPSL (same link)
NOTE: DO NOT TRY TO UNLOCK WITH ANY OTHER HSPL OTHER THAN THE RELEASE VERSION.

Re: Random Hard Resets on Custom ROMs (SEE IMAGE)

I have seen it. I encountered it with Mighty's ROM after two clean flashes (both times followed by hard resets).

At that point, I decided I'd take a step back from the bleeding edge and reload 6.1 (which had/has been rock solid for me), as I need my phone to be completely reliable for work.

So, a number of people have been seeing this screen on their phones with custom ROMs flashed. This thread is attempting to determine if this is a ROM specific issue, or if it is a problem with the HSPL...

So, please post if you have seen this screen and what rom you were using when it reared it's ugly head.

I will go first; I saw this screen using MightyROM numerous times. I reflashed the HSPL and then the ROM, then hard reset with clear storage, and (so far) it hasn't come back.

Thanks all,

- B

P.S. Mods, please leave this in the upgrades forum as it applies across the board here.
i think its funny he tried to tell the mods where to leave a thread, especially when you're telling them to leave it in the incorrect forum, thats hilarious.

I've also had multiple hard resets without warning and none of those times did I see the message above.

ya this is what I'm experiencing.

sometimes it just hangs at the touch pro 2 boot screen and then I have to drop it into bootloader and reflash. I've tried 4 mighty roms, even a pre-release beta and I am still having htis happen. I am thinking of flashing back to stock, relocking and bricking my phone to return it at this point.

Re: Random Hard Resets on Custom ROMs (SEE IMAGE)

Have had this happen twice to me on my TP2. Both times it followed when I forgot to charge my phone overnight and it turned off due to low battery. The next day after charging and turning it back on it got to that hard reset screen. First time I hard reset following the directions and second time I just hit the rest button on the side. It booted back up with only a half reset (all manila settings reset, but programs still installed). Don't know what was up with that but at least I didn't lose everything. Also it kept my emails but lost my activesync settings.

Both times on mightyrom but I don't think that is the source of the problem. Had this happen once on my TP1 but was after losing battery as well. I figure it is like a bad shutdown on the computer causing it to need a refresh of the windows directory (hence why programs still installed).

Re: Random Hard Resets on Custom ROMs (SEE IMAGE)

I had this issue after updating From the original MightyMike Release to the 11/09/09 rom. After talking to Mike, and a few others on the IRC channel, I decided to flash back to the stock rom and then update to the 11/10/09 rom. I did that, and have not had that issue since.
