I didn't know there was a sticky on this... I had posted this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=95937 ..

Seems like a major issue! I cannot have all my info constantly erased, so I am sticking with ugly Sprint stock rom until this prob is fixed.. Mobile shell = your friend.

I have had this happen to me on both custom and the stock ROM. I have not figured out what caused it. I actually had it happen more on the stock rom than now.

I can honestly say I've got more flashes under my belt than anyone here... I've had this happen ONCE... on HSPL release day...

Never again.

Still don't know what it is.

Although i can say, it's not rom specific...

It might be the US Cellular 6.5 kernel.

Im using that kernel and its fine for me. Are you using the USC drivers too?

Eh, it seems limited to a few users which is good. It's not specific to my ROM since users are having the issue on other roms as well.

I'm pretty sure I fixed my issue though. My RUU was corrupt and is now fixed in the latest release.

I'm on Verizon and I've had this happen once on the 10/25 WM6.5 M2.5 EnergyROM, after installing/initializing KForTouchPro and while playing with FPSEce I think. Actually it may have been PocketSNES or PicoDrive, I don't remember exactly, but I'd blame KFTP before the emulator anyway.

It hasn't happened since, but as of now I haven't tried those cabs again either.

My phone does sometimes fail to respond when it goes into suspend while I have a (native PPC) game running. The hardware buttons on the face don't do anything (although this is probably due to the game having them hooked), but what's odd is the suspend button at the top doesn't bring it back to life.

If I plug my phone in the charging LED does operate though, so the phone doesn't seem to have completely crashed at that point.

well i mine dont show that screen. this is how i did it as i am very uptight and overly worrried about all this stuff
1 flash stock vzw rom
1.1 hard reset

2.1 relocked phone
2.2 checked to see that it was relocked
2.3 hard reset

3.1 unlocked phone
3.2 hard reset
3.3 checked to see that it was unlocked

4.1 flash rom of your choice
4.2 hard reset

5. set up phone

6. Enjoy!!!!

same here. I didn't load any new taskbars either and am on sprint and this issue has happened with me with every version of the mighty rom. I've tried everybody's suggestion for correcting the issue and have flashed the various versions of the HSPL and mighty rom over 20 different times and every time within a day, the same hard reset issue arises. First when I go to all programs there are none there, just a blank white screen, then when I attempt a soft reset, it proceeds to a hard reset. Then nothing works, then when I try a soft reset again it will freeze in either boot up mode, or it will show the screen which is shown in the first page

Re: Random Hard Resets on Custom ROMs (SEE IMAGE)

I had this issue for the first time last night. Was running Mighty's 11/16 release. Previously I have run Mighty's first release (10/29 maybe?), and his 11/10 release and did not experience this problem.

Could be coincidence but I also just installed Opera 10 yesterday for the first time. And even more, RIGHT before the hard reset error message happened, I tried running CleanRam on level 3. Its started then had an Exception Error and had to quit the program. I thought nothing of it, soft reset, and then got the Hard Reset error screen for the first time ever...

Could be unrelated, but thought it an interesting coincidence..

Going to try to lock and unlock phone now without re-flashing and see if this works. Has it been verified that this WON'T work (do I have to Clear Storage, flash to stock, relock, clear storage, unlock, then flash back to Mighty) to keep this from happening again?

Re: Random Hard Resets on Custom ROMs (SEE IMAGE)

This is a new version of the HSPL right? The original one that came out caused these random Hard Resets and this one fixes it right? If so, then why does the Boot-Loader screen (tricolor screen) show the same version as it always has (1.00.OliNex)? Wouldn't Cmonex have called it a different version?
