yes. i've had trouble with file explorer. I'm using iss file explorer pro. got it from handango, not free, but cheap.
not as pretty as the cooked in version on file explorer, but works much faster.

I haven't noticed cuz I use total commander. The only time I use file explorer is when i want to make a shortcut.

I have a few cab files that I want to "cook in"... can someone tell me how i can do that?

Where ever you see "%CE11%\Office Mobile 2010" is the folder that it installs that file to. I actually take out the 2010, so mine installs to the Office Mobile folder. You should be able to rename Office Mobile 2010 folder to whatever you want, just make sure that you rename each and every reference in that file. You'll also want to edit the OneNote provxml in that same folder. I haven't tried it, but you might be able to put in a subfolder at that point, but i haven't tried it.

Mail Setup is in the app.dat file for your Manila version.
EXT\Shared\Packages\Manila Engine - 2.X.XXXXXXXX

The manila shortcuts are a reg edit.

I don't want to turn off the shortcuts, just move them. I also don't think the MobileUnderground thread quite answers my questions..My first question - every body says "Just edit put this in your windows folder, or just insert this into your registery" but that is great on the device, but it isn't specific when it comes to cooking. There is no MASTER REG file or MASTER WINDOWS folder in the kitchen and nobody is specific enough for me to understand. I have been struggling for 2 months to change icons of EXT programs that I add in but I just end up with a bleeding start menu. Guess I'm just not smart enough to figure this stuff out. :???:

I use CAB Converter. Real simple. Add a cab, convert to OEM or EXT. drag into kitchen and cook.

in the kitchen under tools. but i use the separate program.

unzip it. copy a cab file into the file.
drag it over the cabtooem program (click and drag it, release click when over program).
it will make a folder with same name as cab program.
click and drag that folder over the ext packages rebuilder program.
then copy or cut and paste folder into the ext->shared->packages folder.
this will add it to your kitchen and also enable it automatically (you can disable it from in the kitchen)

Those packages as well as this recommendation really helped:
Use the preset searches down the left column of the Kitchen because it helps to see ALL of app.dat and app.reg at the same time. It really helps to keep track of your edits when you can see all the files right in front of you.
