I'm glad your happy with it. But still wonder what the deal is between the rom and the kitchen. If you feel like it, try downloading the kitchen again (or unziping it again) and pick the 21888 rom and sys. Only change to all carrier provisioning (or none) and make that rom. Don't change anything else. Usually the defaults in the kitchen is what Calkulin's roms are based on.

Oh yeah, I definitely feel like it lol.

Now that I have a working rom, I'll just keep its .ndh and spb backup files on my storage card, so if anything goes wrong while messing with the kitchen, I can always flash back to my working setup in a heartbeat.

Also, I'm pretty curious too. I don't really know what's causing it, but I plan to find out.

Tweakin'... gotta love it =D

I found some interested data regarding lost TTS in iGuidance.

It's cause by HTC Messaging.

All is fine until I receive a message, and then poof TTS won't work any more until I reboot.

I'd tried shutting all sound notifications down and it still does it.

I removed Enhanced Notification and it still does it.

I went back to Manila 2.1 Message client and it still does it.

Sometimes it's so bad iGuidance can't find the maps.

If I kill the HTC Messaging app I can get iGuidance to find maps again, and sometimes TTS returns.

Hi,
I flash the v1.4 to my Telus TP2. I always get the error: 1012.
Is there anyone can help me solve this annoying issue?

Thanks very much!

For grins I tested Energy's ROM with the same Build and Sense UI and it works.

But I noticed his Messaging Client is build 1921 even though his sense UI 1922.

And another chef completely removed HTC Messaging from 23518.

... with the voice command fix, does it matter if it is 'enabled' or not? I hardly ever use voice command and TTS doesn't work with sense 2.1 enabled, but i haven't tried the fix.

With Kitchen Builds I never activated VoiceCommand so it was off the whole time and the first message kills it.

On Energy ROM I did activate Voice Command First and then sent text message and it stayed running.

What is even more strange is, if I disable HTC Messaging entirely and use Windows Mobile (tmail) and remove Enhanced Notfication it still fails after first text message is received.

Anyone know how to rearrange the 'people' listing in 6.5.x.? When it first syncs to my exchange server, it just picks a random order to put them in.

Also, anyone know where the 'favorites' are kept in 6.1? I know it's not kept on the exchange server. I assume it's pim.vol. The boss is pissed he lost his favorites and wonders why I don't ever lose mine. I told him because mine are kept on the server and his isn't. Boy, that opened up a whole can of worms.

This link will take you to a post that briefly explains what most of the SYS packages do...AND...whether or not they are REQUIRED in a ROM.

Most of this is already known to the veteran chefs...but for some of us that's been dying to know so we can have "slimmer" ROMs....here ya go!!

Orginally the info is over at XDA...and please thank the OP of the PPCgeeks thread for bringing it over here!!
