long time lurker... I finally got sick of my TP2 being so slow and awful with lockups running stock rom.

These directions were awesome, I had the energy rom on there in under 20 minutes start to finish.

hey, what is the relocking function for? i got unlock and I put new ROM on, but why need to relock and what is my "stock ROM" and how to get it? TIA sorry I noobish lmao! 8-[

might want to add that if you have a cracked screen and are trying to flash back to stock if you have any other programs on our computer, that are trying to access the phone. I had mdesktop open and now my phone is bricked.

nevermind I reopened the sprint update stock rom utility.the phone was in a recovery mode and seemed dead and unresponsive but now it seems to be good.

WOW ! how lame ! i was running the Stock ROM , and my phone is going berserk , not sending texts , not connecting to data , even after a HARD RESET ! I am at school right now . And there is a Sprint Store near by , so i figured id re-lock and go get it checked out hoping for a replacement . Well i downloaded the RELOCK.zip attatchment , and it relocked it alright , and also whiped out the friggin stock ROM , now i have to go back and reflash with the cable , which i dont have with me -.- i figured it would be the same as relocking via computer , you dont have to reflash stock .. ughhhh . Oh also , has anyone gotten their hands on the NEW SPL i believe its .78 ?? or .73 ??

I am new to TP2 and flashing.
i have seen references to something called "task29" when flashing.
Is this something old and is no longer necessary?

Hi, fairly new here and getting ready to use my first custom rom. I have read everything I could find, backed up my files and downloaded everything I need.

Want to be sure about one thing.. I dont need to re-lock after installing the new custom rom?? Only time I need to re-lock is if I would go back to stock rom??

Some say that it's necessary, others say it's a waste of time... It only takes less than 2 minutes to do, so why not? If you're coming from a stock ROM it's not needed, only going from one custom ROM to another.
The only time you would need to re-lock is if you need to take it back to Sprint for a replacement, otherwise never re-lock, even if you go back to stock ROM.

I am a fairly experienced flasher in the past. I have been using and Energy ROM on my TP2 for quite a while now, and now want to reflash the stock ROM. However, this is my new error message after I have synced, opened, accepted and get the splash screen on my phone:

ERROR [260] : CONNECTION



The Update Utility cannot connect to your PDA Phone. Please check that
your USB cradle/cable is connected properly between the PC and your
PDA Phone.

Check the following:

1. The PDA Phone is connected to the USB cradle/cable.
2. The USB cradly/cable is connected to the PC.

Can someone help me? This is not only when I try to flash the stock ROM, but even my old ROM's give me this message.

I thought it might be the cable, but I am connected through activesync and am able to move files between my phone and computer.

Please help!
