[SIM-UNLOCKER] - -RhodiumW/Sprint/Verizon/Telus Touch Pro 2 CID/Security/SIM Unlocker

Alright folks, Worldphone Touch Pro 2 SIM Unlocker (yeah yeah, it also does CID and SECURITY) sorted, enjoy the usual boilerplate text:

1) contributing XDA-DEV (EDIT: only XDA) forum members & Elite Team donators... send us a request via our support link for a free unlock with your IMEI & email. (PLEASE do not use PM, do not use email.) - if you have an account that has a) existed for a good few months and b) you actually contribute to the site (technical wizardy, or general helpfulness - CONSISTENT AND REGULAR POSTING), then just drop me a message and it's yours, if you don't meet both a) and b) then don't bother - having an account that you rarely posted from is NOT in the least bit interesting.
2) everyone else (new accounts/unregistered/sod all posts, this means you): Get SIM unlocked Here

again, all the important notes:
1. people who didn't donate yet (for the Elite Team Project or Hard-SPL, etc.) and want the sim unlocker the easiest way is to go to our site, and use the submit form to pay there to do it in an automatic way. don't try to do a payment manually (i.e. don't go and donate to a random link), takes a lot more time to process it then.
2. if you did donate in the past before this release, then use our support link to send your request (avoid PPCGeeks PM, I don't really check that often!!) with the following details:
a) transaction ID for donation *and* your paypal address you used for it
b) IMEI (a 15 digit number usually starting with "35", you can read it from under the battery or via *#06# if your phone is in GSM mode, or via start menu/settings/system/device information applet.)
c) email to send sim unlocker to
3. if you have the Sprint version, you'll need to flash a patched sprint radio too (in other thread).

edit: let me reiterate the last point in bigger text, maybe that helps!

BIG NOTE: if you have the Sprint branded TP2, then after running this SIM/Sec Unlocker, you'll need to flash a patched sprint radio (in other thread) to finish the process.

wow my dude, this unlocks your radio so you can use u.s gsm sims in your (sprint) phone......................in the u.s (you must have security unlock first)

there has been discussion about the TP2 requiring SIM Unlock prior to having the ability to flash radio's - one of the threads I was reading earlier in the archive to be more precise - and it was said that SIM Unlock was required to flash ANY radio - then it was said that was incorrect, that you can flash other CDMA TP2 Radios as long as you have the HSPL - and if you look at the question in the post that I quoted you might then be able to draw the connection...

i got ya on that but from what i can see the radio they send you is specific to your phone(the radio they send to your phone is security unlocked for your phone), so no other radio can be used. but you can flash roms all day without it bothering your sim unlock........ no? and check your pm......

exactly, but clarification/confirmation of facts around radio flashing on a new device (and whether SIM Unlock is a requirement) would be nice :)

Thanks Cmonex, everything runs good on Sprint Touch Pro2 in Houston!, I did donated 3 weeks ago to the Elite Team, and I donated this morning again to get the Sim Unlocker! for the amount of work that the Elite Team put in this project, it's not about money! it's about recognition, Im happy with the new ENERGY ROM, THANKS AGAIN!

mmmmmmmmmm..... that i dont know. i would guess not, if the carrier puts one out, as with flashing to another carriers radio.....thats a good question! i do know if you do manage to flash to another carriers radio you will lose the ability to use the u.s gsm sim option. (would have to go through the whole process again with unlocking security on the different radio you flashed)

it kinda feels like we are getting the shaft considering we have to pay 20 bucks just to supercid our devices. anyway to sell the cid unlock a little cheaper?

reflash the hard spl first, if that didnt work any of the roms here will do it, (you will have to reconfigure your device tho)

you need to flash back to the stock shipped rom first.....then re-flash the hspl

This is awesome work guys! Couple questions though for newb to this. I'm sure this has been answered but I am just not quite putting it together.

I pay to security unlock my phone and then I flash the new radio (Sprint).

- What happens if I reflash the phone every week? I'm helping beta test a new ROM and one of the things we do is reflash the stock ROM before we flash new versions. Do all I do is reflash stock, flash new, then flash the unlocked radio again?

- For the utility that they send to me for my phone, can I rerun that utility on that SAME phone unlimited times if needed? Or does the unlock happen on the SIM itself so it's only done one time?

- If I have to RMA the phone for any reason, can this security be relocked, like the relocker will do for the SPL when it is released? Or will that do both?

Thanks!!!

i dont think there is a relocker for security. but you can flash to any rom you want. just cant flash another radio without losing your sim unlock.

1: Even if you flash a new ROM every day you're OK. Flashing a radio is when you loose the SIM Unlocker, unless you flash with a patched radio that is unlocked for the SIM.

2: The utility is done on the phone, if you flash with a radio that hasn't been patch you will lock the radio.

3: If you reflash to the stock radio, relock the HSPL, and reflash to a stock ROM you can send your phone in for replacement.

Hope I covered it all

Re: RhodiumW/Sprint/Verizon/Telus Touch Pro 2 CID/Security/SIM Unlocker

oh there seems to be a lot of confusion! let me clear up a few things.

first, the definitions:

SIM Unlock: allows you to use any SIM in your phone, i.e. the phone recognizes and accepts the SIM without prompting you for an unlock code. it is permanent without special tinkering. no worries with warranty, no need to reverse it.

Security Unlock: this one is what you need for flashing whitestone radios or the patched sprint radio! this unlocks the entire radio and you can do with it whatever you wish. :D
it is permanent, to reverse it for warranty issues, you have to send a special command to the radio, here is a file to do this for you: http://hpcmonex.net/htc/secrelock.zip (run it on the phone)

CID Unlock/True SuperCID in Radio: it clears the CID in the radio (note, HardSPL also CID unlocks you in a way, but it's only fake CID clearing) this used to be interesting in the past, on GSM devices not so interesting now. on previous CDMA devices it was very useful to be SuperCID but let's not talk about that. ;) I don't know if it is still good for this model, didn't look into it yet... :)
also permanent unless you set the CID to something else, again using special commands.

CID Unlock VS HardSPL: if you just need to flash cooked ROMs, HardSPL will suffice. but note, this package bundles HardSPL too for comfortability.

Sprint Patched Radio: this allows the phone to register on US networks. not permanent, if you reflash radio to an unpatched one, this gets lost.

well, you can flash RhodiumW radios without the SIM/Sec/CID unlocker.
to flash radios from another device, need to be Sec unlocked, but of course it's all in one bundle :)

it's less than 20 really, see the spot rate on USD/GBP :)
if you just need to flash roms, then that's already a different package.

in mtty, "set 16 0", or flash a small and neat splash screen using CustomRUU so you can avoid hard resetting.

1. if you just reflash the ROM (OS), the radio stays untouched. all the cooked ROMs the cooks put out are OS-only. radios are usually released in a separate package, and we will be patching some other radios too as we go.

2. on the same phone as many times as you wish :) but no need, it's one-use really. the phone won't forget the SIM or Sec unlock that easily :)

3. yes, secrelocker link is in this post a bit above :)

Sorry to ask maybe a stupid question, I did read all the posts.

In all this unlocking, I have not read anywhere the ability to unlock the UMTS North American bands 850/1900.

By chance is this part of the benefits of this unlocking process?

Re: RhodiumW/Sprint/Verizon/Telus Touch Pro 2 CID/Security/SIM Unlocker

2 questions, but first some background:

i called verizon and requested to have my sim unlocked on my device. the first rep transferred me to someone in a higher tier of tech support - and he gave me a 6 or 7 digit (or something like that) code. he directed me to the "sim security" setting. i typed in the code, and i now have a message that reads "your hone is SIM unlocked".

the rep told me verizon was now NOT responsible for any charges or quality issues that result from me using another sim card.

so -

1 - what exactly did i accomplish here?

2 - do i still need to go through this "sim unlocker" process that cmonex is offering?

I'm not familiar with the different bands. What are these for, or how do they differ from what the SIM unlock does?

Thanks!

I have the same question. It seems like Verizon users will only benefit from unlocking in the ability to use radios from other phones.

If you're just flashing ROM's it wouldn't matter...once you're unlocked (HSPL) then you're set...you can flash to your hearts content...without having to run the hspl again...

There is a relocker...not sure if that's been posted yet...you should contact cmonex for that.

Confirming this worked great on verizon phone. For new subscribers or those not using verizon this unlocks sim. Codes had been unavailable for many tp2s. Looking for link to setup for tmobile and verizon.

Do I need to be to Security/CID unlocked to repair my ESN? With my Touch Pro, all I had to do was install the HSPL and set CID to all zeros... any different for TP2? Please delete if inappropriate.

i have to chime in and give my 2 cents here

this licensing proccess was set up very poorly. Im out of town where internet access is harder than usual so i paid for and downloaded it from my phon browser. Made somebody get off the computer at my moms house so i could "unlock my phone real quick" just to be denied because im using it on a different computer than i bought it on. wow.

This is entirely because of you. Why did you do it through your phone browser? No where does it recommend using your phone to purchase any of this. Was it absolutely necessary to unlock while your away from your home comp? Are you really going to be flashing while your traveling? Plus solutions to this problem have already been posted.

Seems like you just got anxious and had to have it, rather than waiting until an opportune time.

NO WHERE on this page does it say or warn you should purchase, download, and flash from the same computer
http://rhodiumw.htc-unlocks.com/

ALSO the reason i did it like this is because i did not know the pc you flashed it from had to be connected to the internet so i downloaded it to my phone to transfer to my laptop (no wifi where i was) and was gonna flash it that way. didnt work. So i found a ethernet and tried again and get the verification error.

and yes i have to flash on the road, I'm on leave for over 2 weeks, changing duty station with family so even when i arrive at my next base i wont instantly have a house, or my household goods to flash from my regular desktop. if you must know.

I fthis was free i wouldnt even be mad right now but I paid $25 for a instant download service that i cant even use. they really need to put this in the instructions. (not everyone has home internet access, some people tether from their phone 24/7).

This only says to me that you should've waited the two weeks until you got settled. And if you actually did download directly to your laptop while tethering, it would've worked normally. The way your accessed the internet is not the problem... rather that you purchased it using one computer (the phone) then tried to unlock using another (your mom's). So technically, you could've unlocked two phones if this licensing wasn't in place.
