you don't have to unlock anything to metroflash a tp2.

SO.... without changing my stock verizon radio i can insert a SIM card from say t-mobile and use their towers through my phone??

what second number? are you saying that when i insert a t-mobile sim card into my verizon it will use the sim card number and not my verizon number?


ALSO, my original question.....what can me as a verizon user benifit from this? to be able you use GSM towers??? not complaining, just clarifying. i want to do this just getting all the details....

Yes you may use tmo or att on sim unlocked Verizon tp2 without radio flash. No HSPA on US GSM.

Yes, the phone will use the number from the SIM, when set to GSM mode.

Benefits depends on user. Travel, use another phone number, home/business numbers, service in dead spots, multiple providers of service, use prepaid services, change providers, higher resale value - simple package to completely unlock phone. ( I am using prepaid CDMA on verizons network with PagePlus and using existing tmo account.) Benefits may be less for those in cities or with sim unlocked already.

Do you get HSPA on ATT or on T-Mobile (2 different bands)?

I read that last night, and downloaded the 02003 prl for metro, copied it over to my tp2, and then updated the prl, and now it calls metro when I dial 611.

now I think all I gotta do is do an ESN swap.

I will let you all know if it is sucessful.

Hey, I did the HSPL the day after it came out. Havent flashed any customs ROMs yet. Last night, I decided to install the SIM unlocker, superCID, and sec unlock and my phone has been HOT as hell all day today. It also gave me some random message that Ive never gotten before saying my country could not be confirmed and I had to manually select US.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Ok there's definitely something wrong here. My battery lasted half as long as it usually does and for the first time EVER, the phone disabled charging due to over heat and started flashing the amber charging light. This is on the stock Verizon ROM... no other changes besides doing the unlock. Was NOT having the problem with just the HSPL.
