if it tells you that you've unlocked before, your only option is to pay the 6 bucks, unfortunately. to avoid this on replacement phones, read here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=2035

Quick Question:

I have a refurbed Touch Pro 2 and did not receive the unlocked before error, but i do get an Error 262 Rom Update utlility encountered communication error during update. I believe this is what the other poster is referring to also. Anti-Virus if off and firewall disabled.

I went and made the donation and submitted a ticket with my IMEI number to cover all the bases. I guess i am confused becasue the paypal account doesn't ask any type of IMEI number or anything of the sort to distinguish my device and allow the SPL to work.

I am new to the Touch Pro 2 forum so any help would be appreciated, I am coming from a Touch Pro and unlocking was a breezy. PLus I am really concerned about this SPL version 0.72 I have running on my phone. I wonder if this version change might make the unlocker brake I thought the original SPL version was 0.63. If there is anything else i can do to get the SPL working please feel free to PM or post.

your imei number is read from your phone and automatically sent when you do the transaction.
when you choose the automatic option, what does it tell you?
did you try all the trouble shooting steps in post #2?

Well, my issue seems phone related. It won't boot at all now, so I'm pretty sure the phone is bunk. I'm going to get a new one hopefully today... I'll post back if I continue to have issues.

I wasn't upset, just wondering what details he wanted :p I had no clue why it would fail, so I wasn't sure what details to provide!

I have tried a few different USB connections on my computer but not all of them ( i must have like 7 of them some USB 2.0 ), completely removed all Firewal and Anti-Virus protection too. As soon as i run the manual HardSPL i get a Sorry, the HardSPL process closed early dut to an error or the RUU errored out when attempting to flash.

During a manual Hard SPL, I get the phone in bootloader mode first. make sure the connect says USB. The normal warnings are clicked and next pushe then the "updating the ROM image on your PDA Phone" status bar appear on the PC and Computer. Then the computer times out and displays a ERROR [262] Update ERROR Rom Update Utiltiy has encountered communication errors during the update process. The phone never goes into the black screen which is the SSPL at all Just straight into the RUU.

I am running a Windows XP SP3 system
no current antivirus, or Firewall installed
Touch Pro 2 by Sprint SPL Version 0.72
Refurbed Touch Pro 2


would anyone happen to have the SSPL Manual.exe the error screen ask about ever time i receive the error mentioned above.

Any help would be Greatly appreciated.

Hey,
i have go me a new htc tp2 in this week and now i want to have some more fun out of it :D

BUT when i tried to unlock it with this dl link then there came a message that says "

WARING
This pacakage is not
intended for your device
type !!! High chance of
bricking!!! Exiting now

and then i cant do nothing more whith the install . . .

what to do ?

never heard of oister tp2, but the message you're gettting usually means you have a gsm tp2. Which model tp2 do you have? This unlocker is for the cdma/gsm world version of the tp2.

what happens when you choose the automatic option?
