Re: [11-28-09] [ROM] MR.X WM6.5 V1.6.5 [Build 21864] [SDConfig]
Hey Jug_X,
The data connection problem is still there with the GSM. Since I reflashed, I went ahead and didn't enter my SIM pin, so the phone couldn't ask to setup the GSM data connection. It set up the Verizon one first, then I let it switch to GSM and the connection wizard ran. Switched back to CDMA, and again, it's defaulting to the GSM data connection and the only thing that fixes it is a hard reset. If I delete connection.xml, when I reprovision, it still keeps the GSM connection as the default. So I'm going to backup and do a hard reset, and not let the connection wizard run until you can find the problem or I'm actually in Europe and need the connection. It just makes me a little nervous that it won't work when I'm over there and actually need it. Even now, when I go into Select Networks, it SHOWS Verizon Wireless, but still tries to connect to the GSM data, resulting in the "No Modem" error. EDIT: Just some extra info, that might help you diagnose, I can post you some screenshots if it helps. When the GSM connection wizard runs, it creates 3 new connections: Mobitel Internet (which shows up along side Verizon Wireless in the manage existing connections windows), Mobitel MMS, and Planet (which do not show up anywhere but under Select Networks). Planet is Mobitel's WAP portal. I went in and tried to delete all the connections but no matter what I do Planet and Mobitel MMS remain, but I can delete Mobitel Internet and Verizon Wireless without a problem. It seems that the data settings are still not linked to whether you are in CDMA only or GSM only modes. EDIT 2: So I was able to avoid a hard reset by deleting the settings for all 4 connections, Verizon, Mobitel, Mobi MMS, and Planet (although I can't seem to get rid of the last two no matter what) and then re-provisioning. But I would greatly appreciate if you could look into Verizon's implementation of data connections that are sensitive to the mode that you're in CDMA or GSM only. The way it is now, if there is ANY other connection available besides the Verizon one, it will default to that regardless of mode. It was really nice to get off the plane switch to GSM only and have my email refresh on the stock VZW rom. |

Re: [11-28-09] [ROM] MR.X WM6.5 V1.6.5 [Build 21864] [SDConfig]
Excellent ROM.
I have Sprint and MMS works perfectly. Only issues I’ve noticed coincide with other users I have read here about the task mgr memory usage increases over time even without programs running. Although I have tried changing the settings several times; programs do not shut down for me when hitting the X within the program and I have to go in task mgr to X them a second time to shut down. Also is anyone else experiencing random connection errors or time outs when using internet sharing or wifi router intermittently? I go back and forth with these two programs because I work on the road and sometimes have to share my connection and randomly can’t connect even with full EV signal without either soft resetting or opening comm mgr and turning data connection on and off. Because of this issue I have also noticed data connection or wifi is randomly on; draining battery life (even after I shut it down when I am connected from within program). |

Also, I noticed that it doesn't seem like I can get a quick charge via usb from my laptop anymore is there anything in this ROM that could have changed that or has anyone else noticed this pattern?

-Make sure that you choose "End Programs by tapping X" under the task manager settings for "button" -To use Internet Sharing or WiFi Router, you have to have an active data connection to share, this may be the cause of your connection error. -Data Connection may turn on randomly if you have your e-mail or weather set to automatically check/update or if push internet is on. -WiFi may turn on by itself after a reset if it was not turned off prior to resetting the device. Try turning off wifi then shutting down. -The memory usage is a known issue but will not affectr your phones performance. If your phone startes getting low on memory it should automatically close programs as needed. -If certain apps will not shut down using the X button "Opera", there are fixes within the registry for removing them from the Exclusive List within task manager. Just do a quick search and you shjould find what youre looking for. Juggs, Good work on this ROM! 5 Stars added to the thread! |

Re: [11-28-09] [ROM] MR.X WM6.5 V1.6.5 [Build 21864] [SDConfig]
Thanks Chris1683 I have adjusted to your suggestions and will continue playing with this wonderful ROM. I think most of these suggestions were part of GT4L clean up utility for the WM 6.1 that I previously had on my device and I thought I played with these settings with no luck. I also noticed with the now included nuebattery settings; the enable fast charge is selected and wasn't included in the previous ROM which I believe solves my follow up issue. Thanks all for the fast response and once again excellant ROM. 5 stars.

hi - does the v1.6.5 rom have the wm6.5 device lock or the wm6 pin lock? i've noticed that other roms which have switched over the the USC wm6.5 rom have now reverted to the wm6 pin lock.

NVM guys i lied mine is on too, but i usually watch my vids with the kb closed.....
If i open the KB when im not in a low light situation, the kb light doesn't get stuck on... but obviously if the sensor tells it to turn on... since its the same driver that operates the Screen backlogging core player has a tweak to keep it on. so the kb light gets stuck on too... |
