Dumb question, but do these new radios perform any better than the stock? I realize they allow you to connect to US GSM networks. Are the US GSM networks faster than CDMA? I'm on Verizon in Greenville, SC btw.

Anyone?

What exactly does using a different Radio do? I have sprint, if I use the Verizon radio, how is that different from the Sprint one?

Sometimes changing the radio will improve signal on the phone(not in all cases). A different radio might hold a weak signal better than the stock radio.

If you change it...give it a day or two...to see if you noticed anything better or worst. Then try another, until to get one you like better:salute:

is there anyway to unbrick your phone if you installed an incorrect radio?

flash a diff radio

well it depends

if you flashed a GSM radio on a CDMA then sorry.

but if you flashed the radio found on this thread that is supposed to be only for security unlocked phones.... then flash another radio found here.

Did you flash a radio from this thread? If so, and you have a CDMA device then you should be fine, you just need to flash another radio maybe.

I'm a little worried I may brick my phone. I have Sprint.. does that mean I can only flash one of the 2 Sprint radios posted up here? Or can I also flash Verizon onto my Sprint phone.

Reason I ask is because in Metro Detroit, Verizon seems to have the best signal

if you are unlocked to flash roms then you can flash any rom on this thread no matter the carrier. dont flash the sprint test radio endless you are also security unlocked.

im using the 2.05 and thats what works best for me...

if you happen to flash the sprint test radio you will get a crappy looking tru color screen but all you have to do is flash another radio and your good to go.

test each radio for a couple of days and see which one works better for your area.
