Meh, ran mine for 3 days and it's draining a 10-15% per hour. Somethings wrong. Somethings running in the background I think... mines getting really slow over time too.

I did on the first ROM provisioning was included in but haven't since, hard resets, flashes, and programming have taken place since then.

This ROM has some real problems it's not a "burn-in" period that is why NRG is coming out the new ROM tonight or tomorrow. Earlier incarnations of the ROM were good but this one with the Sprint drivers is plagued with issues. Check out his Tweeter log to see the updates.

Just a few quick thoughts about these two methods. For the first quote, I'd have to say it better to do the hard reset BEFORE the initial boot as this will be sure to actually start clean as it was intended. Allowing it to load just takes longer and UC has to run twice this way. You may want to do it before the initial boot. The second post, be VERY careful doing it this way. He says pull the battery before the rom is even done loading. This is highly risky as the cables can become loose over time and disconnect momentarily. I never even move my phone when flashing. This way I won't have to play with reflashing from boot loader mode. The usb will power the phone, but I wouldn't be flipping it around and pulling power sources in the middle of a flash. Just flash with the battery back off and when the computer says finished, click the box in the window, unplug the cord, pull your battery for 10 seconds or so then put it back in and do a hard reset. The lack of power will clear the NAND either way. Maybe it works your way, but with new roms coming out and people searching for "hard reset", I'd just like to keep this out there. I can't recommend flashing without a battery in the phone. Still, to each their own. For anyone after this post that wants to quote me and say "we never hard reset and we're fine", I'm glad it works out of the box for you. Most people flash maybe 30 times on a particular phone. Some are exceptions, but you get the drift. Chances are slim that the cache will contain corrupt information for everyone, but 30 times multiplied by a few thousand people, and you've got some good chances of catchin a bug or two. If a new rom gives you trouble, always try to clear storage/wipe device first. Pull the battery and push a few buttons then load WM. Sounds time consuming, but searchin for 1 topic or posting 1 reply can take 10x longer. This should be stage one on any new buggy rom... or like myself, done for good measure. Lastly, going back to sleep!

PS for those who might want to try 2.1, here is my battery usage for the day: charged at 10PM last night, set on nightstand until 8:00AM this morn, dropped to 94%. Spent 4 hours watching old movies and generally doodling the heck out of my phone (email, Internet, and mini golf). Took kids to park, another 2 hours of doodling. Spent about an hour actually using my phone as a phone (imagine that!). It is now 8PM and my phone has been off charger for 22 hrs and I still have 54% charge! Life is good Last edited by swlaraut; 03-24-2010 at 11:02 PM. |

LMAO......overkill IMHO.........I have never done the flash dance and have flashed the TP2 at least 100 times....same with the TP and so on and so on...a good thing to do though if you are having issues is hard reset (with buttons---power off +send/end keys simultaneously) and make sure you also clear storage right after...this should clean out the NAND completely....the rest is just overkill....no need to take out battery and def no need to flash without a battery...you are asking for trouble on that one... Remember hard reset and clear storage are not exactly the same.....clear storage goes a little deeper for cleaning...
