i came back to R8 from being on Mighty roms (1.20.10) for a good month. i missed the twitter tab and the clean today screen with quick link icons on juicy roms. i said i was going to give it a week and after 3 days i can't take the sms freezing up. i was never ever one to complain about juicy roms since they were the first roms i ever flashed to but until the sms is stable enough i have to go back to what works best. and to the trolls lurking. no i have not been texting over 500 text a day & no i do not have anything updating every 10 minutes. the battery life is still great just sms is not 100% to me.... yet. i look forward to seeing R9 and testing it as well. thank you, Juicy for all your hard work.

What is the point of posting this??

To a lot of people it is very important & I'm sure they could care less that it's "not important to you"


Heck, I almost never use my phone to make phone calls (I text a lot however) I'm not going to post that's it's no big deal if it won't make a phone call however......

Is anybody else havinng trouble downloading this from rapidshare? Jeez. I have a premium membership and i am still having troubles.

1 might have found a bug on this ROM (R8). The reason it might not be a bug is I don't know if Com2 Rom has this feature or not. When someone calls me while I am busy I can press the "send text" in the lower right hand corner. This works, however it always brings up the text message I have to then press send again. I have gone into the registry HKML\software\htc\phone\phoneextendsetting and made sure "editthensendmsg" was set to 1. Also I look at start\settings\personal\phone and it does not have the advance tab for these settings. I also made sure the "addmenuadvancedphonesetting" in HKML\software\htc\phone\phoneextendsetting was set to 1.

Is this a COM2 issue or am I doing something wrong?

I mention it before but I have been in and out of the forum and have not seen a reply. So I will post the question again to Juicyand other ROM users of R8. The sound issue that most say is still there well I have duplicated it but it not really a major issue-when you use the sound setting from MAnila Sense, you can notice your tool bar and the audible icon does not change and if you try to change again it goes to silence but you can adjust from the volume keys on the side of the phone no problem.
2nd is that not of the clean ROM apps has any full function such as HTC addict clean ram will run thru a normal cycle but freeze and would not allocated any free space.
This I can say was not an issue before.
That is what I have found so far, Juicy in my honest opinion you should not move on to a newer build just yet but lets put our heads together and get this one almost 99.9% perfect.
Just to others I am not complaining just pointing out little querks so that it can be ironed out

this ROM is all in all good.. but i can't get my gps to work and i can't get my location for the weather can someone please help and the sms is tricky..

From the main home screen, tap on right softkey "menu", then choose the option to enable my location.

Are we still recommending you flash to stock, clr mem, flash new ROM, clear mem?

You can do that or just flash the ROM... let it go through its steps. and then Hard Reset.
