Re: ░░░░ MightyROM.com ░░░░ Windows Phone® ░░░░ Update Available!

Heres an interesting observation. I've been on vacation all week and have not made or received any phone calls. And guess what....no SOD. Phone is as snappy as usual and I haven't even had to do a soft reset at all this week. I'm still using data to surf and getting emails pushed as well as texting and GPS but not a single phone call.
Is it possible that the SOD's could be related to the phone software?

I know this is not MightyRom specific, but there are a lot of great minds here so I just thought I'd throw it out and see what y'all think. I also know its not tooo practical to not use our phones for a week to test out my thought, but what the heck. Just seemed interesting to me...or maybe I've just gotten too much sun and beer.

If we could only pin point this problem, that would be the million dollar discovery. Sprint, HTC won't even accept that there is a problem with this..

But I've too been on vacation outside the country and I had the SOD without using my phone. I did use WiFi and managed to get the SOD..

hhuummm!! I wonder!

Re: ░░░░ MightyROM.com ░░░░ Windows Phone® ░░░░ Update Available!

My first TP2 was replaced 2 months ago after the touch screen stopped working. I use to get an SOD at least once a day and would have to pull the battery or press the reset button.

When I got my replacement phone, which was refurbished, it already came preloaded with WM 6.5. Not once did I have a SOD. I have been running MightyRom for a couple days now and have not had a SOD either. Maybe it could have something related to certain batches of TP2. I bought my first one the first day it was available for order on Sprint's website.

SOD issues is like the million dollar question everyone has a answer but it never seems to be right. Glad that the issue has stopped for you, I got one of the first batch and only had the issue maybe a handful times.

No idea if it will help but you could try managing your wifi with a different program than the built in winmo. WIFI Monster is pretty popular I think.

Thanks for this suggestion, but sadly it did not work. It timed out while trying to get an IP address.

However, it did show me something that may be causing the problem. But I have no idea how I would fix it.

My router is set to channel 7 but WifiMonster showed it as being Channel 5. I changed my router to channel 5 but then WifiMonster said that my network was broadcasting on channel 3.

I wonder if some setting got changed on my phone that would incorrectly detect what channel a network is using?

Interestin thought...I got my first one a about a month after it came out and do not remember getting the SOD, but when I got my repalcement back in FEB it started happening. whats even more interesting. Since I ran task29 and flashed to FF i have had a ALOT less SOD then before.
its stupid that Sprint and HTC wont even acknowledge it. I think thats becuz they do not want to admit that they have a problem. I remember that when there were all the issues with the TP1 that it took them a while to admit that it was a shitty build.

OK! This is really strange. I just got a phone call, my first in 6 days and my screen is stuck and my hard keys are lit up! I'm not kidding. Power button has not turned the screen on or the hard buttons off. Its been several minutes and they are still lit up.

I really wonder if it is phone related.

David

Edit: only way to get the hardkeys to turn off was to soft reset. I hit the power button several times and that did not work. Sliding the KB out eventually activated the screen but ended up having to a SR to fix the problem.

hmmmmm

That happened with me on my first TP2 several times. One time I had the screen get stuck halfway through the swipe to answer bar. The phone froze with the hardware keys lit up and the "button" that you swipe was in the middle of the green answer bar. The phone never answered the called and I had to soft reset the phone.
