You may have to create a new connection (settings>connections folder>connections>manage existing connections>new).

Verizon requires something like the following for 3G data:
name:VZW Embed GSM
modem:Cellular line
*next screen*
enter number (slide out the keyboard for this): emgsm.vzw3g.com
*next screen*
user name: ##########@vzw3g.com
Password: vzw
Domain: <blank>
***advanced***
click radio button "user server-assigned IP address"
uncheck all check boxes
use servers as "server-assigned"

when back at the connections list, select "Auto pick"

That should get your data connections back after a reset.

So here is a screen shot of what I was talking about before with my text missing from my notifications.

It works, however all my text is missing - any ideas what would be causing it and how I could fix it? I do have the MM_gadget freak taskbar installed but I have always used that and never had a problem so not sure what's up. Everything else works ok on the home screen as far as text of the buttons and shortcuts so not sure what's up.

hey guys having an issue with the Music tab. It seems if i reset or shutdown the device the music has to be rescanned so i have to wait a couple minutes for the artist to show up in the library.

can anyone else confirm that they are or are not having this problem?

I always thought that was normal, I never use it for music but have messed with it before. Anytime I soft-reset it would always re-scan but I only had a few albums. I think it just looks for new music and make sure all the files are still there, not sure if there is even a way to "cache" it but I can see why that would be annoying if you had a lot of songs.

I love this taskbar. unfortunately it messes up notification enhancements as your sshot shows. Hopefully we can get this revised to work with the new roms :)

Thanks for confirming - I thought that might be it but I have never had any kind of issues with it before and I always use MM edits for my taskbar so thought I would ask about it. I pretty much hate the stock taskbar so I will put up with it for now. Any plans to release an updated version of this Mike? I know a lot of people like this taskbar.

Do you know if there is any 7 signal taskbars mm edits? I saw on the 1st page a 7 signal cab for sprint. I was gonna try it but don't want my taskbar messed up. I always liked having 7 but like the custom icons better.

First, Mike, another great ROM! Thanks again to you and the people that helped make this ROM! Also to all you in this thread that help people with their problems and poop out cabs on request! MM Has the best community! Hate that people are having problems, everything has worked perfect for me so far on Verizon!

Question: what vid player are you guys using? wanting to specifically play avi's and mp4's.. Seen a few out there, just curious what you guys think and if you have any recomendations what works best on this ROM!

honestly mp4 play very well throught the built-in htc streaming media player. avi's are tough but I use coreplayer personally for other formats like flv, mpg, etc. It cost money but it's a solid player.

Wow, 81 pages in 2 days; Brutal!

Anyway, love the new ROM. One quirk, though. I have an IMAP4 email account set up to check for new messages every 5 minutes. Sometimes I will delete a message from the email tab (menu, delete message) without actually opening and reading the whole thing, just the preview visible when you go to the tab. If I do this, the email reappears the next time my phone checks for new messages and gives me the new message signal. If I open the email and delete it from there, everything works correctly.

Any ideas?

I had a similar issue to those having hard reset issues. I was installing an app in the MS marketplace and for some reason the marketplace app just closed. So I re-opened it but the app I wanted to install seemed to be stuck in limbo trying to install, as if the marketplace somehow was stuck around in memory and hadn't actually closed. So I did a soft reset (having no other issues till now) and it never came back up, just hanging at the black Touch Pro 2 screen with the red text at bottom left. After soft resetting several more times with no effect (also took the battery out for a few minutes) I just put it back in the case since I wasn't home and couldn't remember how to do so hard reset.

Then after awhile I thought let me try it again, so I took my phone out of the case and it was sitting at the carrier provisioning prompt. So I can only assume that it had hard reset itself all on it's own. From then on though the sense UI still had some oddities about it. Text messaging would just not work as some others had mentioned. I wouldn't say it hung, but I could type a message and the send button just wouldn't work. Everything else about texting worked, I could close the message and save it as drafts, bring it back up, etc. I just couldn't send. Then I noticed my email previews no longer worked, it said click to view message. Then I noticed when my phone locked later on that it had the old style lock with the really big number buttons for some reason. So now I'm flashing back to stock, clearing storage, flashing to MR again, doing button hard reset, then clear storage and we'll see what I get. I just wanted to document for those that might be having similar issues in case there is something lurking beneath.

For the record, my phone had no customizations above the MR stock. All I did was configure my exchange information and a few standard apps like skyfire, bing, TCPMP, etc. Nothing that would be considered a tweak. I've also flashed every MR since the TP1 days and consider myself well versed in the process. We'll see if this info benefits anyone.

good question, I think you would need to remove the taskbar, install the 7bar cab, then install the taskbar of your choice to work properly. I could be wrong but I remember this is the correct method. now that you mentioned it, gonna try this now :) using bilbobrian taskbar. will report back.

I just switched from the same configuration that you are using to this ROM and I'm pretty sure I'm going to stay here. The agenda view and the contacts page in Sense 2.5 are closer to the features that I liked in MS3.5. Overall, it seams smoother. I suggest you give Sense another shot.

awesome, let me know how it looks and if it's even worth it or not. I think it just will revert to stock signal icon. I would love a 7 bar mm edit gadget freak bar would be the bomb.

Eschelon cab worked changing the signal icon to to stock. so i installed bilbobrian's taskbar again and it broke the battery icon. ugh. oh well, lol.

Hey everyone, I'm loving the new ROM but have a few questions and thoughts. First I flashed the ROM and then went through to setup my Hotmail account and then realized that I needed to do a clear storage to clean it all up. Now every time I try to set up my Hotmail account it takes me online to my email account. I want to just be able to check it without having to go online all the time.

I hate the new browser that is included in this ROM. I can't close out tabs, when loading a page it doesn't load the whole page of a forum, I have to click next page over and over again, it doesn't load all the picture on webpages. I loved the old internet on the previous MMROM. What can I do to fix these quirks?

how old is your TP2? what version of the Unlocker do you have? I believe the first versions of the unlocker had that hard reset problem. Re-download the unlocker make sure its R3 and reinstall if you have not done that. Other than that, I think your doing the right stuff by flashing to stock. Stock is like robutusin for phones.

You can't set up Hotmail by going to your email setup tab, you have to use Windows Live. That will Sync your hotmail like you want too.
and about the browser, I've had no problems with mine!

there are numerous behind the scene improvements on this rom besides Sense,, just go to the front page and you will see the change log.

My apologies if I gave the impression that my problems were related to the integrity of Mighty Rom's hard work. I was previously using his Sense UI 2.1 ROM with much success, so I didn't think that the ROM was to blame. I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem after a flash.

Somehow or another, the phone came back to life. I don't know if it had anything to do with coming upstairs (where the signal is better), or divine intervention. :angel4:

I've had to do a soft reset a couple of times due to hangups, and both times the carrier provision screen came up. I've cleared storage a couple of times, so this leads me to believe that I might have to follow a previous poster's advice on flashing the stock ROM and flashing back to MM's ROM.

I had that thought, but this is literally my first encounter with this kind of issue since the TP2 first came out. I probably am using the original unlocker though.

I too had a psuedo hard reset occur after trying to install an app from MS Marketplace. The install seemed to have frozen so I tried to close out of Marketplace. That seemed to be messing with Sense, so I soft reset. First time, phone froze at the orange Windows boot screen, then soft reset again and it finally booted up. Strange though - all programs are installed and mail settings, but all my start menu icons are rearranged, and the MR Provisioning tool launched automatically. Also, my background was reset and the shortcuts the Home Sense UI page were gone.

So it didn't totally Hard Reset but seemed to have done a half hard reset...??? I came from MM's 2/10 sense 2.1 ROM and did NOT flash back to stock before flashing to this ROM. I did however clear storage though... I'm going to wait for more people's thoughts on all this and then do the full flash dance using Sprint's new stock ROM.

Does anyone have a reg-edit to turn on auto rotation, or some kind of cab? I use the auto lock and when I get a call or something and look at my phone it usually in landscaped mode.:scratch::scratch:

I'm still on the 10-29 limited public beta HSPL, and have no issues. What has been discissed is that not all flash chips are created equal. I haven't flashed stock since the beginning of November, and most of the time I forget to hard reset after I flash.

Can I just add cabs that I want installed all at once to my XDA UC folder then run the UC program? I use Sashami for my setup so the UC program doesn't get used for anything else.

I was just updating some contact photos, it got funky and all my contacts disapeared. I tried to sync to get them back and it would not connect. Yada yada yada .... soft reset turns into half baked full reset that brought up provisioning that failed....Hmmm - bummer to lose all the set up

Yes you can...

Configure a new POP3 account, when it asks for email addy, put in a fake one like email@hm.com. Then the pop3 server is pop3.live.com and smtp is smtp.live.com. Then once the account is set up, go back and edit your email address to your correct one. Works like a charm for me!

I've got the same problem. :( Keypad and End Call works if you can figure out where to hit it, but mute, speaker etc don't work and are all on top of one another. It seems like the addition of the contact buttons at bottom of the screen messed up the alignment.

I had to hard reset a couple of times, but ended up re-flashing last night - no luck. I'm going to try the full flash dance tonight and then load cabs/reg/xml one at a time rather than use XDA-UC.

So I get up this morning to find that my phone froze and when I soft reset it it did a hard reset.

OK, I did some more testing and *Some* MP4 files play OK - ones that I converted with TMPGenc as a non-avc file. The ones that I made with mencoder guis (like "HTC Touch HD Video Encoder 1.21" and "Mp4ForHD") all come through with no sound at all. I'm attaching a sample mp4 that works on the MightyROM_RhodiumW_021010 release but not MightyROM_RhodiumW_032310 - it seems to be an issue localized to the album, all other programs play the files fine (well without hardware acceleration, but the sound plays) TCMP and Core player among others.

I suspect something in the Album_3_2_20122028_00 that's new in this release broke aac decoding for AVC MP4 files

Part of why it is doing that is HTC has made some serious upgrades to both the volume control and Notifications enhancement. I'll take a look at it over the next few days and get them upgraded.

I saw earlier in the thread someone asking about the two white lines on the homescreen. Anybody got a fix for it. I remember back from the touch pro 1 days there used to be a manilla position fix cab. WOuld something like that work here??

Hey guys.. Im still on the 2/1 might (which works so well) and have a question.. When i go into contact and hen to the tab in the contact that is for text messaging and try to send a text message to them, it appears that it goes but doesnt show up in the top where the conversation should be and the person never gets it. If I do it from the regular text messaging tab on the TF3d main tabs then it works... any ideas?

I have had the same problem several times. I think I have flashed 2 times since last night. My screen freezes and is non responsive, I reset it and it would hang up on the mightyRom screen with the Red text on the bottom. I put it on charge last night and all was good, then this morning it was locked up again, and after messing with it for a while I ended up reburning again. By that I mean Load Stock Rom, Clear Ram, Activate Phone, Load MightyRom, Clear Ram, Set up for Verizon.... Any Help would be appreciated.

I had that issue too...what i did was simply switch to a theme that natively comes with 6.5 such as classic blue, dvf green, rock and republic black, vera wang red, or ron arad orange. The theme mighty placed on it by default after flashing reveals those white lines. Give it a shot and let me know. hope it works!
