Jmz Android Rom V1.04.14.10
Jmz Android Rom V1.04.14.10 This is a completely custom Android rom for TP2. This installs and runs android without booting into Windows Mobile. There is no option to boot to Windows Mobile. It is useless because of all the stuff I removed. Rom was 35MB until I added Android to it. If you have an existing Android build on your SD card, and you want to save it, backup all android files into a new folder before flashing. This will overwrite your current Android build. To read the rom version, 1.XX.XX.XX is my version number, and the rest is the date of the Android build. Of course, this still has its limitations. Please see port status below to find out. To install: Flash like you would any other rom. When asked to click next on first boot, tap next. Then you will boot straight into Android after that. All bugs are in the development of Android. None are part of my build. To see the current build status of what I am using, go to http://www.androidonhtc.com/wiki/Port_Status To install additional apps, add the apk file to your sd card under "\storage card\Android\androidapps". Browse to that folder in Android and tap on the file you want to install. To download known working apps go to http://www.ppcgeeks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113463 Where I got the information and all appropriate appreciation for the work done. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=115443 If you have data issues, remove your sim card and boot again. Android 2.1 rom is coming too |

Re: Jmz Android Rom V1.04.14.10
First things first, THANKS JMZ for putting this rom together for us to easily flash to our tp2's!!! It looks awesome!!!
BUT I have a problem... I flashed this Android rom from my sd card and I can't get a signal of any kind. I tried to turn off airplane mode but it doesn't seem to work because it turns itself back on. I have the latest Sprint radio 2.32WF. Can somebody tell me what I need to do to get my phone radio to connect to the Sprint network? Thanks in advance. |

also, if you want to flash to another rom, power off the device, then while holding the volume down key, press the power button. this will put you into the bootloader then just flash a rom normally |
Re: Jmz Android Rom V1.04.14.10
Thanks for the replies guys. I will remove my sim card and i feel confident this will fix my problem connecting to the sprint network... Thanks given

Thanks again |

Re: Jmz Android Rom V1.04.14.10
I have never used an Android phone, I have flashed a few times, including this release. Will bringing android to the TP2 really make our phones all that much better. Im having a hard time understanding the Advantages of the newer Android OS. We all know WinMo's issues, but why is Android climbing the charts when it comes to OS market share these days?

Re: Jmz Android Rom V1.04.14.10
OK. .. pdanet Will not work with this Rom because the Usb drivers can't install on my notebook. I also tried Easy Tether Android same problem. My notebook does not detect my phone when plugged in via usb. Debugger is enabled. Also audio does not work. In-call audio works through the ear piece only but the volume is low and will not adjust up or down with volume rocker. Everything seems to work as expected besides the things that are known to be not working I'm experiencing a lot of lag while typing this with the on-screen keyboard. I have to let the phone catch up after typing each word. Its pretty bad. I'm not sure what's causing this terrible lag. If the speakers worked I would definetely stay with this rom. Its very nice concidering the known bugs.

Re: Jmz Android Rom V1.04.14.10
JMZ, Thanks for putting out this ROM and for your military service. Wouldn't it be ironic if you were a "chef" on the ship too.

Be careful with the charging there is no power management yet so you can over charge the phone and kill the battery/phone or both!

Re: Jmz Android Rom V1.04.14.10
I ran it for a while but i am not seeing the benefit of only having Android. The way it is now i can have winmo and android on my sd card. I didn't notice any speed increases from sd or ROM. IMO

You should post this in the android subsection too, i found this because i randomly checked the CDMA upgrades section |
