Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

Since I've flashed the new ROM, I get an error message whenever I do a soft reset. It flashes too quickly for me to read the entire thing, but its says along the lines "dialed #7777, could not connect...." then it has a dismiss button. Any ideas what this is and how to correct it?

I notice that the interface on this ROM is faster than MightROM WAR. I had been using WAR until about 3 weeks ago when I couldn't stand the lag anymore. Sliding from the Home tab to Settings (when the clock was displayed) was so frustrating. Sliding to hide the clock was a slideshow. I went back to stock 6.1/2.1 without knowing that an official 6.5/2.5 would be out today. I am happy to have gone this route because I can easily see the improvement in performance.

This ROM has some curious issues, especially after getting used to the old 6.1 style again, but it seems to maintain the stability and speed of the 6.1 stock ROM. Hopefully this will be a good base to improve performance even more though another MightyROM!

Who is running cookie's mod on this? Getting any Manila lockups? I just switched to santods 16 link cab to see. Drop in memory used from high to low 50s on boot. Have to wait and see if the lockups go away.

i understand that should work. my sharing works perfectly as well. i was just wondering if there is something that cab installs that is recommended to have that the regular touch pro method does not include. by touch pro method i mean the way it say to do it in the touch pro 1 essentials thread...delete extension, cmcon=0 ect.

id like to avoid too many cabs if all i need are those reg edits.

i guess what i really need to know is if the way i used is still considered stealth and i wont get charged. thank you.

from what i understand the cab make the edits for you but i could be wrong, somebody else might know better

huh?

Is it just me or am I the only one who wasn't expecting the Sprint rom to kick ass?
Sprint is not competing with the chefs at all, nor should they. Their job is to put out the most stable and consistent platform that they can. Not the prettiest nor the most loaded. Adding 2.5 was probably more than they should of done. Obviously even they gave up trying to fix its issues.

Hopefully this will prove to be a super stable 6.5 rom that we can use as a base going forward to build it even better. Because despite how pretty the rom was, or how loaded it was or even how close to stable it was, ALL the custom ROMS eventually ran me back to 6.1. Despite how I love my toy it is a work device first and foremost and therefore MUST be completely stable.

Sprint did exactly what they needed to do and even added a little extra. They should be commended for that.

KUDO’s Sprint!

You should try Mr.X 6.5. It is solid and fast as hell. You will throw away 6.1 and not look back.

One thing that bothered me is it didn't even look like anyone put any effort into the start menu, it looked like a bomb went off. FAILURE!

are the people doing the internal testing capable?

judging from the date the .nbh was compiled, there was 2 weeks to figure simple stuff like that out

That's not new news wrt Owner Name - the chefs have been doing that for us for quite some time behind the scenes.
