i too am having the same problem i thought it was a really convenient part of the stock rom ;boom someone bday comes right up on your phone screen all because they are your facebook contact for some reason i guess it was left out of this rom has anyone noticed this or solved this issue???

haven't been on here in a while...
I have build 21889.5.0.87.
I love the ROM but I have a pretty big issue that I need to fix. I have a Verizon phone that works perfectly in the US. When I go to Puerto Rico, I am unable to use datas. I keep on getting a popup message telling me that it is voice only and datas are not available. The most annoying part is, that it keeps on coming over and over in the middle of the screen. Is this something that was addressed ? I tried a search of the thread but nothing came out.

Also, how do you upgrade the ROM without having to reinstall all applications ?

Mr.X currently is having a ton of trouble with his device, we're all chipping in to get him a new one. You could gladly help and see where he builds from there :)

I don't recall anything of this sort, but I'm on Sprint and haven't had that sort of issue. I can tell you though, you cannnot upgrade your ROM without losing the applications and having to reload them.

Yeah, don't see a lot of donations, even though even just a few bucks helps. With the number of users on this ROM, I'm amazed he wasn't able to get a new phone rather quickly, although it doesn't seem that's the case. I hope people realize that if a chef doesn't have a phone to test on and tinker with, what reason is there for them to continue cooking for that phone. I'm not saying that for any reason other than how I would be, if I don't have a Diamond, why would I cook for a Diamond. There's clearly over 100 users of the ROM, if they all donated just $5-6, X would have the phone.

Come on guys, help him out after what he does for us and never asks for anything in return.

Very well said dude ! I even mispelled my meaning of quiet with quite lol. But really this irks me that ppl can't reach a little more than this, we'll see how it pans out. X has done so much for this community like so many have, but doesn't ask for anything.

Exactly! I don't want my favorite chef (and troubleshooter too, I think peeps forget that it was X and Mighty who figured out the steath tethering after they got huge bills) to go to a different smartphone, just because it's cheaper and he needs to get a new phone. And it's not like we're even talking huge amounts, if everyone donated just a little bit X would be all set.

Alright all,

X said his phone is dieing, and believe me it is, hell, he's on a stock ROM trying just to get a signal at times. There are some cool things we've been working on for the next release, but shy of me sending him my phone, which according to my wife, is permanently attached to me, it's not going to happen.

Personally I donated to the cause, even though I provide him and MM with free hosting, free programs, and every now and then a good joke. Since MM has gone to the dark side and has been busy with work, I've redirected my efforts towards X. He's a really good kid, yes I can call him that, kinda reminds me of me when I was his age.

So if nothing else, toss him a few bucks, he's worked his a$$ off for us, it's the least we can do.

Alright, now back to the regularly scheduled program.......

agreed, I donated because I appreciate all X did for me with my tp2, plus I will probably be flashing his roms again someday! Hopefully we will get some more donations from all of us diamond, tp, tp2 users that benefited from his contributions.

Come on guys, help him out a bit. He's never asked for anything from us and continues to produce the best ROM's around, but needs a new phone just for everyday use. People not even on his ROM or even on the TP2 have donated, hell Mugsy did and he's not even working! It's not like he's asking for $100 per person, I don't think X will complain even if it's a few bucks. He consistently puts out quality ROMs without asking for anything in return, yet when he needs a hand to get a new device (not that his old one was worn out by constant flashing roms, radios and tweaks for all of our benefit...) people can't come up with even $5? I'm not a rich person by ANY means, but had no issue coming up with a few bucks to help out a chef who's helped each of us out many times over, whether you realize how much he's helped or not.

Hello guys, I am obviously new here and that is because I recently got smart and read up more about what my touch pro 2 can do. So I learned about Mr. X's ROM and had to try, which I did and absolutely love. I do, however, have two issues which I can not seem to solve:

1. I am unable to make calls, it says that verizon has difficulty authenticating my phone, to try again later. I searched my phone and found the Mr. X's CDMA provisioning and saw that the switch for the carrier was on for Telus. So, I switched the one for Verizon on and a prompt goes on stating that a verizon.cab was installing and once finished it stated that it needed to re-start. Once its done restarting I try to make a call and same message, check the Mr. X's CDMA provisioning and the switch is back on for Telus. Any ideas?

2. I do not seem to be able to send nor receive SMS messages. How can I enable this?

Any help is much appreciated, and I will more certainly donate!

that has happened to me before, u just need to program ur phone, call *228 and when it prompts u, just hit 1 to program. that should do the trick. As for the provision, mine goes back to Telus as well, but as long as when u look into remove programs and see "Mr X Verizon Cab" u r fine. Hope this helps.

What is your flash process?? I ask 'cause you stated you were new to this. What has worked for me....flash/run task29 (or flash stock rom) > flash Mr.X > once loaded up, clear storage in start menu then settings > system > clear storage > after it loads again, run the verizon carrier provisioning (after it loads and resets, it will always show telus, but you should be good to go) > dial *228 to program phone.....if programming doesn't work, you may need to dial *7788 or *8877 something like that to re-authenticate your device.

Nice job guys!! We're getting there! This is what makes this place what it is, peeps helping out another, especially X who does so much crap behind the scenes its unbelievable, and not many here see how much time he puts into it, not to mention the risks he takes with his phone testing things out before they get to us, and not just ROM's, the radio thread is also from him and IIRC he borked a phone flashing a whitestone radio so we didn't bork ours first. Everything is tested on his own personal phone before he releases to us, so it's nice to see people contributing to him getting another, since it's prob all the flashing and crap that's trashed his.
