StedySoft Provisioning
Select your carrier at ROM initialization...

I want to thank ALL the fine ROM chefs dedicated to the TP2! As I embarked on creating my first TP2 ROM, I wanted to have a slick process of carrier selection upon first boot...

I noticed that JMZ has not updated his provisioning tool, so I decided to try my hand at it...

The app is fully customizable... see the enclosed cp.config.xml to modify the app name, banner text, listed carrier cabs, and text associated... even the menu items can be modified!

I have been using it for about 2 weeks as I build my first ROM... so far, so good!

Just place the EXT in your favorite kitchen...

Special thanks to... Mighty Mike and Juicy! Inspiration!!!

EDIT: Source link provided... All take and use... no problem from this OP

I dig the look of it, keeping with HTC's theme. Does turning the switch off uninstall it?

Awesome work! Any chance for an OEM version?

EDIT: NVM, I converted it myself and it works as an OEM as well.

I am having problems installing Sprint.cab. Get this error: "Calkulin's Sprint Carrier" cannot be installed. Any one know why?

this is a package meant to be cooked into a custom rom, not really to be installed as a cab on a running rom

Re: [EXT] StedySoft Provisioning [01.26.2010]

Have a question?

How do you change the default from Verizon to another carrier. Do you change the line that has at end "default = 1" to a 3 for Sprint?

eboelzner 02-02-2010 06:18 PM

Re: [EXT] StedySoft Provisioning [01.26.2010]

Just move the default="1" attribute out of the Verizon node and into the Sprint node...

t0mmyr 02-08-2010 12:57 AM

Re: [EXT] StedySoft Provisioning [01.26.2010]

i made some changes and now it wont run until 2nd boot...???

after flash itll runcc, then soft resets by itself, then it runs stedysoft then i need another soft reset to apply cab install? how do i get it to run the first boot without runcc resetting?

dibbson 02-08-2010 01:01 AM

Re: [EXT] StedySoft Provisioning [01.26.2010]

i know if you change where the carrier provisioning icon is to another folder, it will change the boot order. For me it has to be in the tools folder (which is the stock/default folder) to go on first boot. Not sure if that's what you did or not.

t0mmyr 02-08-2010 01:13 AM

Re: [EXT] StedySoft Provisioning [01.26.2010]

app.dat
Code:

Directory("\Windows\StedySoft"):-File("Carrier Provisioning.exe","\Windows\Carrier Provisioning.exe")
Directory("\Windows\StedySoft"):-File("ManilaDotNetSDK.dll","\Windows\ManilaDotNetSDK.dll")
Directory("\Windows\StedySoft"):-File("cp.config.xml","\Windows\cp.config.xml")
Directory("\Windows\Startup"):-File("Carrier Provisioning.lnk","\Windows\Carrier Provisioning.lnk")
Directory("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Utilities\Backup & Restore Tools"):-File("Carrier Provisioning.lnk","\Windows\Carrier Provisioning.lnk")

i think it has something to do with runcc, but im kinda unfamiliar with it, how do i make it stop resetting? does autover.exe do anything also?

dibbson 02-08-2010 01:27 AM

Re: [EXT] StedySoft Provisioning [01.26.2010]

yah, sometimes diff UC's can make stedysoft default to a second boot for some reason. You will probably have to adjust your UC or stedysoft, and if i'm not mistaken autover.exe triggers the UC to run.

How about a tmobile carrier for those who are using a cdma tp2 on tmobile? I can supply the cab for you if you can make it an option.
