[ROM] T-Mobile ROM for Sprint Touch Pro 2 Phones ~ WM 6.5 21889
 

Alright so I know this will be a niche ROM for most, but for those of us, who may not use Sprint, and solely rely on our SIM Unlocked Sprint TP2 phones for T-Mobile service, this ROM is for you.

Intro: This is a stripped down, stock-ish ROM utilizing the latest T-Mobile WM6.5 upgrade.

What it's for: This is only to be used by those who are using a SPRINT branded TP2 for exclusive T-Mobile service. This will NOT work on a normal GSM T-Mobile TP2, but may work on a VZW and Telus device (though it is untested, but will not brick your phone if you try it out)

What you need to do:
1) HardSPL and Security/Radio Unlock your phone by going here and then here
2) Flash the latest World Unlocked radio found here
3) Insert your T-Mobile SIM card
4) Download and flash this ROM

Important: This is NOT to be used with a GSM Touch Pro2. It is for CDMA (namely Sprint) phones only. I will not be responsible for anything dumb you do with your device.

• Sprint/T-Mobile WM6.5 21889 ROM
• Includes all data settings for T-Mobile
• Switched out T-Mobile Manila with latest HTC Sense
• Updated some OEMs
• Removed some unneccesary stock OEMs
• Changed to HTC bootup screen

i tried it out for a bit...couldnt get my data(tzone) to work on it. the APN was correct though.

Awesome, this is exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
Only problem is I can't send or receive MMS messages any moore. Any ideas how I can solve that?

I realized that the registry settings I made in the ROM for MMS for some reason didn't take. I don't know why as it should be completely stock and work as it would on a T-Mobile branded phone. Nevertheless, I'm currently working on a CAB that will install the same version of Arcsoft with the registry settings in place for correctly configured MMS servers.

Hmmm, it connects automatically for me on data with no issue, even on first boot after a flash. Maybe try reflashing. Also, are you using a prepaid SIM or a normal T-Mobile contract with data?

I have been messing around installing different ROMs on my phone, and I got MMS to work with EnergyROM using the T-Mobile CAB found here:

One thing, I had to change it to Connect Via "My ISP" instead of "My Network." This is probably basic for someone more experienced than me, but I had overlooked it and couldn't get MMS to work...

What if the esn is bad through sprint but i want to use my tmobile sim card with it? Would that be a problem?

no, it won't be a problem. if your t-mo sim stops working, then it's a problem.

Basically what Dr.8820 said. T-Mobile registers your phone using the IMEI, which is a different identifier than the ESN or MEID that Sprint uses to register you on their cell towers. Therefore, you can basically use any Sprint TP2 that has a bad ESN, Sec/SIM Unlock it, and use it on T-Mobile or any SIM carrier without issue.

Does anybody know somethig about this? The problem is that I bought a TP2 in e-bay (they said it was in Spanish but it was a lie) ...

Correction,
I have tried to flash this ruu, but when I start ruu.exe it says that it has no response from my phone eventhough the phone is connected using microsoft active sync. Any sugestions?

Data worked fine for me on this rom. I ended up putting together a kitchen and making my own rom, if theres any interest i could post the rom, i made sense 2.5_2012 build 6.5.3_23529. MMS and data work perfect, organized start menu, custom them. I would say manila 2.5 is as fast as 2.1 now.

had a quick question i got a fresh out of the box touch pro 2 and i went through all the steps to unlock and my phone keeps freezing and the battery life now sucks I'm on sprint and used the 2.23.00WU radio and use a t-mobile sim. will this rom stop the freezing or is there something else wrong any help is appropriated.

As long as its a CDMA phone with GSM capability, you should be ok, as mentioned in the first post.

Ok i try it but iam getting Error [290] invalid command thia upgrade ulitily connot be for this PDA phone. If the tmobile rom was flash before the Radio unlock would that cause the error and can that be fix
