Like was said before, you are good to go without being security unlocked. Yes, you can use the 2.37 Jan3 and it will work fine. The link in the 1st thread, just use the dropbox link for the radio only. The Verizon MR3 is a stock ROM for Verizon... you don't want that, only the radio.

You can use the provisioning that is in the ROM (in tools>advanced) or try the SprintFIXEDprovisioning.cab that some people say works better? Also use the imnuts ArcSoft MMS .cab obviously for MMS. After doing the provisioning, go to Settings>connections>connections>advanced>select networks and set both selections to Sprint.

cant really ask opinions on radios imo, some work for others that dont for you and your area so just flash them till you get best one for you and your area.

I'm worried about tethering the wrong way. Is there a right and wrong way with VINdows rom? I just downloaded the new one with the 2.37 radio. I am getting much better phone web surfing data speeds which I'm happy about.

I installed some programs and they aren't showing up in under the program popup for the quicklinks. Did I do something wrong?

I had Energy Rom before and there were reset device and reset sense buttons. Is there a way to set this up with VINrom?

I really don't notice any difference between it and the stock Sprint 2.32 radio. Didn't expect to either.

Radio performance can't be measured just by bars, and there are so many factors that change reception that you have no control of. I can have 2 bars at home one minute, and 5 bars the next, regardless of the radio firmware.

the bottom line is, I had good quality calls with the old one, and I also do with the new one.

Well, we can start fresh this weekend.

Little additional information for all:

1. Simple issues can be solved with restart, Task29 and hardreset after RUU update.

2. Some applications and cabs don't go well with some builds and there are downloaded applications that will conflict with other applications that are designed on doing the same job.

3. I believe in flashdance, why? because when you previously downloaded a Rom from another source or sources, there are these little things that are left in the phone which has not been removed with task29.

4. The good thing bout Vin's updates are: He's updates are clean that you can even dine and still be clean. Which means that if you decide to simply try another update, you only have to do is Task29.

5. Conducting a Flashdance is doing everytthing again from start. This means a bad flash, bad download and coming from a previous update that's buggy, slow, choppy, etc...

6. Re download the RUU, do with mozilla preferably and start again. Take it from there and see what happens.:)

I am not new to Vins ROMs but it's been awhile, I had my xda_uc folder set up just perfect for another... but, when I lost my SD Card I decide to flash this guys stuff again & must say I like about 95% of the ROM, just the right amount of flare & apps cooked in!You know you found a good ROM when it's hard to find something you have to change :)

Wished I did have the template for the start menu Icons though, I do need to fix up a handful of icons...

Hey Guys - Ever since I flashed to this ROM, my back button hasn't been working. Any ideas why? I tried to search this thread, but didn't see anything. Maybe I'm using the wrong keywords?

I stay away from RUU flashes. All my flashes these days are done direct from SD card. I've never had to task 29 or do the flashdance. I've never understood how the ghosts of files could stick in flash memory, it doesn't ever seem to be a problem in any other flash memory I use.

Anyway, I suspect that either the RUU itself, the USB connection, or something that interrupts the data flow from the PC to the phone causes most of the bad flashes. I've probably done over 100 flashes on my current TP2 and only the RUU flashes I've done have ever had a problem.

Flashed Jan 03. I just checked my back button is working fine. Maybe hardware problem.
