There have been 2 revisions to the HardSPL since its initial release. There are usually reasons behind having updates and some of these were meant to adjust the code i.e. fix bugs.

A lot of the custom ROMs were having an issue where the device would spontaneously hard-reset (there's a thread on it) as well as some other associated quirks. Even I've seen that behavior on other ROMs.

In order to properly rule out extenuating issues and confounds, it is absolutely necessary that we are all on the same page i.e. we all have the latest HardSPL.

Once we know people are on that AND if they are still having problems, then we can move to the next level of diagnosis i.e. the ROM. This is just how science works. Otherwise I may be chasing ghosts.

To reflash with HardSPL costs nothing and does not wipe out the data meaning your current ROM is preserved. So there is ZERO downside from doing it as it only take about 10 seconds to flash. (Though one could argue that re-flashing the ROM after the new HardSPL would be even more preferable, since the HardSPL directly influences how the ROM is flashed in the first place).

Not having this issue on other ROMs actually means nothing since there is no way I can know all the dependent/independent variables (HardSPL, ROM, Settings, installed software, usage, etc.)

For all I know, you have corrupted data from the flash, which is why it is recommended to hard-reset after you flash a new ROM. Just saying, there's a lot variables here, I'm just trying to control what I can.

So your saying I should just download the latest release from the website and act as if I was unlocking my phone again even though its already unlocked right? No need to relock it and then use the latest HSPL to unlock it again? jus flash as if it was a ROM following the HSPL directions? Ill try and then flash back to this ROM and see what happens. thanks for the clarification.

Maybe off topic or wrong place, but has anyone noticed how SLOW the music app is in Manila? When passing by it my phone will pause and lock up for a minute or more. It's always been a bit slow, but not this sloooow..

yup, exactly. it acts like a firmware updater.

I'll be honest, I never use it, only use Nitrogen (best player out there--super fast, low mem), but I'll take a look.

Ok, i figured it out. For Opera 9.5 add the following key:

1)
[HKLM\Software\HTC\SmartTouch\Opera Browser]
"FullPath"="\Windows\Opera9.exe"

and
2) disable the (software) zoom slider :

HKLM\software\opera\defaults\zoomsliderenabled
set this to 0

Reboot

For Opera 9.7

1)
[HKLM\Software\HTC\SmartTouch\Opera Browser]
"FullPath"="\Windows\opera9.exe"

IMPORTANT : Note lowercase 'o' in opera9.exe

and
2) disable the (software) zoom slider :

HKLM\software\opera\defaults\zoomsliderenabled
set this to 0

Reboot.

I used the opera cabs posted earlier in this thread.

To the best of my knowledge the zoombar is not supported in Opera 10b.x.

Mal, the freaking start up is not even funny.... flashed late last night and said I'll finish this morning, flashed the phone, shut off everything and started walking through the dark with the freaking phone rebooting and almost SHIT myself when the freaking qualcom boot screen started with the gears turning! My freaking dog started barking too!! The ROM is sweet, love the fact that it's set for Sprint out of the box, and it's faster than hell!! thanks much and Merry Christmas!

Mal, would love to test the Titanium build as I'm running SPB MS and may move away from TouchFlo completely. Could you please send the link so that I can download and test (if you already posted it, my apologies if I missed it!). Thanks!

Mal..

This ROM is my fav Christmas Present! A Thousand Thank Yous!

I just have one NOOB question?

  1. As this is CRC compressed ROM, If I were to add / mod any Manila files, they will have to CRC compressed as well correct? I ask because I intend to the TouchFlow Intregated Radar Weather app over at XDA.
BTW, Is this really you in the LG EXPO Review over at WMExperts (? That review had me doubled over laughing so hard.

love the rom!

ARGGHH!!!

I went from Awesome to feeling like bashing my head against a brick wall in 15 mins.
No sooner had I restored all my contacts and programs on the new MalROM, my phone got stuck on the Start Menu. When I attempted to soft reset it, the phone would not boot past this screen?

How did you resolve your issue above?

I can get to the Boot Loader screen by pressing "Power/Vol Down + Rest Button". Do I need to re-download the ROM or the Unlocker or the Relocker?

Thanks in Advance
