NFSFAN,, Thank you for your hard work~!

I really enjoyed with this rom v1.02b. I don't know if only I have troubles with this rom, but I have some minor issues.

1. Alarm sound is just ringing during 0.5 sec.
2. Browser on the Internet Tab of TF3D 2.1 is not functional. (But I can use internet through the explore among programs. )

Except these little issue, This rom is ROCK~!

Thank you,

For the internet tab to work, you have to install his version of Opera.

I've noticed "Turn speaker on when device is placed down during a call" setting does not work. I tried un-checking then re-checking it. I slam the phone down on the table, caress it down, pancake flat surface, still nothing!

It works well with the TP2 I have.

Hmmm....
2 issues:

1. I get 2 icons in the start menu
2. I always get a "connection failed" message when trying to download the ephemeris.

And I have installed the Sprint provisioning CAB.

Any ideas?

Interesting speed benchmarks comparing the main ROMs on this thread. NFSFAN 1.03b is surprisingly not the fastest!!

Im kinda a noob. Love the rom but cant get the clock out of the taskbar. The keyboard cant be changed from compact qwerty it keeps going back to it and when a text is displayed on screen there is no option to reply.

just some observations.

Re: Quick GPS?

Two icons - Yes, I just noticed that. I really don't like using Visual Studio to make cabs, but that's all I have on this laptop. I will fix that and reup shortly. You can just delete the second icon out of \Windows\Start Menu\Programs though.

QGPS failed - You do have to do a soft reset after you install the carrier cab for the new settings to take effect. That happened to me as well when I put 1.03b on last night. I thought I had broken something then I realized I hadn't reset yet.

Edit - Check my earlier post. New cab file.

OK, then I'll give you the work-around I used (I installed the opera 10 beta 2 before NFS had his cab posted).

TF3D is looking for the "operaL.exe" program in the windows directory, this fix assumes that NFS's cab installs to "/Program Files/Opera Mobile 10", so...
Using Total Commander, go to the folder "/Program Files/Opera Mobile 10", select all files and folders in this directory and copy them into your "/Windows" directory, overwrite if you get any conflicts. Then in the windows directory rename "Opera10-armv4i.exe" to "operaL.exe".

@tg,

I do the "mms dance" that is mentioned in the NRG thread and use the files from there as well. Install the removal cab, soft reset, install the JD Arcsoft cab, soft reset. After that I go in and edit the server under "MMS Options". It has the Sprint server in it, so I have to add the Alltel one and set it as the default. I did a quick search for USCC settings and found this:
"gateway is blank
port is 80
Server Address is http://mmsc1.USCC.net/mmsc/MMS
I believe"

You might need to do a little searching if those values aren't correct. I found mine here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=19886

Those values look correct. You can use mmsc1 or mmsc2. They should both work, but some people say they get better results with one over the other. I personally never noticed a difference, and am using 2 right now in mine. Also, some people say that the USCC and MMS parts NEED to be in caps, I have err'd on the side of caution and always put them that way instead of trying and having to replace it later...

You have to make a reg edit for it to work. Each "page" of the today weather item is tied to a set of registry keys. I think it is a holdover from some versions that had an MSN Weather widget on page 8 but the RADAR.EXE (which actually shows the pictures) is hard coded to look at a registry key called "page9". So to make it work:
1. Launch PHM Regedit in the System Tools folder.
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome\Titani umWeather (there is no space in that why is the forum adding it?!?)
3. In the lower window there will be an entry called "Pages". Change it from "Page1;Page2;Page3;Page4;Page5;Page6;Page7;Pag e8" to "Page1;Page2;Page3;Page4;Page5;Page6;Page7;Pag e9" (don't put quotes around them and again no spaces in Page9). You're just changing Page8 to Page9.
4. Under the TitaniumWeather key there are matching folders for all those pages. You now need to rename the Page8 folder to Page9.
5. Exit PHM, soft reset and done...

Here is a cab if I didn't explain this well enough. The only difference is that this cab will leave the Page8 folder and create a new Page9 folder because it's not possible to delete registry entries with a cab file without writing a setup.dll and that's too much of a pain for something as simple as this.

sbl

Edit - I don't think it will display animated gif's, only static images...

Excellent! The page existed already in the key, but I noticed the folder was missing so I renamed Page8 folder to Page9 and then created a blank Page8 folder, exited, soft reset and viola; thanks.

Re: *Updated December 10th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.x ROMs

I'm having problems play wav files.

I have my landline (PBX system) voicemail go to email, which I retrieve on the phone.

When I try to play from within the mail program, it states: "The attachment is of a file type that could be unsafe. Messaging will not open this attachment."

If I click save as, I can save it to the device or a storage card, but it won't let me give it an extension (grayed out). Even trying to rename it on the device does not help. If I browse the storage card from my PC, I can see it is a wav file and play it from the PC.

On the mobile, I've tried to play it with WMP, Mort Player and Win Vibe Pro; none of them recognize the wav file as a valid extension. If I look at the properties of the wav file on the phone, it doesn't state wav but instead states unknown.

Any ideas; any way to set in the registry for wav email attachments to be marked as trusted?

Re: *Updated December 10th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.x ROMs

I'm guessing your pbx is using a codec not supported on WM... there are a number of codecs allowed by the wav file format. I'm guessing there are tools out there to help you determine what codec you pbx is using... audacity might give the info you need (free audio editing software).

If you can determine the codec, hopefully there will be a codec you can download and install on your TP to get it all working.

Re: wav files

@terces,

Years ago (when I had an HTC Blue Angel), the company I worked for had a Cisco phone system (I want to say Unity, but it's been ages) that would send voicemails as an attachment. This was back when you could still ASync over WiFi. It took me forever to figure out how to play them on the device. I honestly don't remember what I ended up doing but I do remember looking at the wav file on a PC with something like gspot and figuring out that Cisco used some funky codec that the PPC didn't have. I am pretty sure I had to use TCMP to play the files when I finally did get it figured out. You should be able to use Total Commander to rename the file and add an extension once you save it.

HTH,

Hi NFSFAN, love your work and just wanted to say thanks for all the time you put in to these roms.

I have been having problems w/ the 6.5.x builds. My phone has been randomly crashing, for no reason just out of the blue it just freezes up and the only fix is a soft rest. thought it was just some thing i installed so i did a hard rest, then reflashed, hard rest, refashed and then another hard reset. after that i only installed the cabs provided in the first post and your opera10 b2. after all that still crash and freeze!
I am on a ALLTEL TP that has made the switch to VZW (if that matters). Thanks again and hope that i just did something wrong but its weird ive never had this problem w/ any of your other roms. But other than that I love what you do and i still run the rom even tho it freezes 2 or 3 times a day. Any info you might have would be appreciated.

To change the lockscreen pic, aka home background:
  1. open File Explorer
  2. navigate to the pic you want to use
  3. do a long press on that file for a menu to open
  4. select set as home background
To change the Wallpaper in TF3D*:
  1. navigate to the Settings tab
  2. select Wallpaper
  3. select the picture you want
*note: This method will only change the home tab background. If you want to change the background for the whole panoramic, you will need to do some extra research

Great ROM, very fast, and a great look and feel.

I have one question though. I don't seem to be able to kill running programs from the taskfacade task manager. I can mark the program(s) I want to close with a red X but when I hit ok, or process->close nothing happens.

If any one has a fix for this I would love to know, this is very frustrating as this is the only issue I have with this otherwise awesome ROM.

This is what I do. I long press the screens that I want to close. They get marked with a red "X". I then press or select the home screen or any other screen that I want. The programs marked with the "X" are closed. You can go back to task manager to verify this but you will need to have at least one program open to do this.
