Seriously thats the only way? Isn't there a way to manually input my info into the phone? I still see my friends phone number when I go to dial voicemail. Which leads me to believe his info is still on the phone eventhough I hard reset and cleared cache.

Best alternative to NFSFAN?

I prefer streamlined - although I generally keep the option open to run Touchflo I never do. Simple and fast rather than feature packed.

Getting very nervous about the timebomb messages. Since my phone has become essential to my job lately I don't really have the option of just waiting and seeing what will happen on May 1st.

Would rather stay with NSFFAN but may not have the option.

Thanks.

Yeah easiest way would be to flash stock, activate from there.

Yes there is a way to manually add the info into the phone. You'll need your phone's MSL code and then you'll need to goto the Phone Codes folder and open up PST.

Can someone test this for me, on 1.05, when I press FN+Web Browser shortcut key, Internet Explorer opens instead of Opera even though Opera is set to default. Does it do this for you too? I don't like IE very much, so I'd like to figure out how to switch this action.

:lurk:I had the same message and did a hard reset to try to eliminate it to no avail. That was all with version 1.04, with version 1.05 no time bomb message yet, I updated 2 days ago.

Hey guys, I spoke with NFSFAN regarding 1.06 and he's working on it, but he's busy with finishing exams and is having some money troubles. If we all send him even just a few dollars I'm sure he'd really appreciate it, and give him one less thing to worry about and help get the ROM to us faster.

His info can be found here to make a donation:

What is this time bomb that I keep hearing about? I have not seen any warnings about that. Do I need to flash before the 1st to keep myself safe? I really am more concerned about my dad. I flashed his phone a few weeks ago, and I am out of state from him. DO I need to walk him through a flash over the phone? Neiter of us have gotten the message.

Re: *Updated March 5th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.5 ROMs

the time bomb is something microsoft put in for unoffical versions of windows mobile. basically an expiration date. after that date the phone becomes useless and you are required to reflash.

if you have not received the message, do not worry. it looks like the time bomb was in the 1.04 version, not 1.05. there have been others roms on this forum with the time bomb in as well. juciy 8 was removed because of the time bomb.

Thanks for the info Bobram! I ended up installing the stock rom and then using the update something in the settings and that got my phone to work. I then flashed NFSFAN's rom.

Anyone point me to where I can read more about that Phone Codes Folder?

Also has anyone noticed that with this ROM if you tip the phone like forward it hangs the call up? I know I read about that being a feature somewhere at xda but I can't find away to edit this feature. Today I must have hung up the phone like 4 times talking to someone while on speaker.

What is this timebomb thing about? This would royally suck.
