Not sure whats with that. I've ran this .cab for pandora on several other ROMs (including stock) and it works.

Edit: Answer found: http://fluffyphones.com/how-to-windo...ys-full-songs/ You have to go into windows media player, "now playing", menu, then turn off shuffle. Why that causes this problem... no idea! But it fixed.

Thank's for the info Pandora now works on my device.

Josh this is a very Stable, fast and efficient Rom. Great Job my Man!! I've tried many Rom's in the past and all I can say about this is like a McDonalds commerical "I'm Loving it!"=D>=D>=D>=D>

Oh Please? If you're begging me to ask you again OK here goes. Why do you need a program to tell you how fast your stupid processor is running? Is it because you can't afford a real computer and you have only your poor cell to work from?

I thought I was rather nice asking the first time around but if you're going to be an @ss with your "oh please" than so be it. Nah come to think of it I could care less why you need it keep your reason and your sarcastic reasoning to yourself.

Glad to help, and yes, just read it meticulously people, it does work.

Now though I have a problem of my own :disgust:

When placing a call, and quickly hitting the end call soft/hard button before it starts to dial out, it not only terminates the call, but it also terminates the dialer for the next call. :disgust:

The only way to actually make a call again is by soft-resetting the phone.

I had this problem with a few other ROM's before in the past, but this time around, the problem can be recreated every single time instead of just randomly as before.

Is there any way to work around this?

Why do all that when the task manager is already set for long key press on the talk button?
This method brings up the same option but uses 10 times the amount of resources to use.
I guess I don't really get it.

Yes, let the call connect before hitting end or use the hard end key.
Works on most roms.
The problem isn't with the rom.
It is the HTC dialer.
I use the wm dialer and it does't have that issue.

Guys, you're making the task manager solution harder than it needs to be, and well, so did I.

Believe me, I've tried EVERY viable solution out there, as I explained in my thread here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...45#post1321945

The best solution remains mapping the built in task manager (one that most people don't even know exists, and honestly neither did I) to a hard button.

http://i954.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/Screen01.png

Here is how you do it step by step:

1. Open File Explorer
2. Select "View Options"
3. Select "Show All Files"
4. Go to \Windows folder on Device
5. Find the file called "taskmgr" (it is 29.3K in size)
Not TaskMan
Not TaskManager
Not TaskManagerApp
Not TaskManagerLite
Not TaskMgr

It has to be "taskmgr" ... It's there believe me:
http://i954.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/Screen03.png

6. Press down on this file for about 2-3 seconds so the file menu opens and select copy

7. Go to "My Device\Windows\Startmenu\Programs

8. Click on Menu -> Edit -> Paste Shortcut

PART 1 DONE

Now Map it to a hard button for quick access

1. Click on Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Buttons

2. All we need to do now is assign the Send Key(Hold) to "taskmgr"

3. So in other words, anytime we hold down on the Talk button for ~2 seconds or so, instead of making a phone call or flipping the screen orientation, it will launch the above task manager instead.
(you can still make phone calls of course by just hitting the talk button normally, i.e. no long hold)

http://i954.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/Screen04.png

PART 2 DONE

That's it.

I'm downloading now to give it a shot. For you verizon users how is your memory usage on this? Is opera usable without getting "out of memory" errors constantly? I've tried several 6.5/6.5.1 roms and keep going back to 6.1 due to memory usage.

What's the best way to revert to the WM dialer ?

Use Diamond/TouchPro Tweak and you can switch back and forth between the dialers.

It is in the first set of options Call.
Go down to Phone Pad Style and select Windows Mobile Default.

I know that task manager is there but it doesn't really offer more options for the resources it eats up.
Open the default mapped task manager and it uses around 144k or so.
Open the taskmanager the way you mapped it and it uses aver 1 meg.
That is a huge difference in resources for no real difference in options.

The QuickMenu I posted can also be mapped to the long key press I guess and it has options to close running apps as well as a full program menu.

Showcase 1.0.1b is another good option as the new versions as you already know are a pain for the new rom builds.

I will ry to post a QuickMenu sceenshot in a few.

QuickMenu program menu
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...Screen05-4.png

I did map it to the long key press and it is fast and smooth.

It has a recent option to open app you have used and it has.
Basically it has almost ever menu option your home PC has plus options to close running apps.

Oh yeah, if you click the Close Program with the arrow it has an option to open the same task manager. :)

weird, now that I installed that GF Round Taskbar WM 6.5 I can get to the task manager when I click on the clock in the taskbar, it drops down. the thing that happened when I installed that new taskbar is that it messes up the notifications area some but it's not a big deal since the battery meters match now and plus I can get to the task manager so I guess it's a trade off I can live with.

Re: EmpiROM - Featuring TellMe & WM6.5.1 - Fast, Stable, Sleek. For Touch Pro.

What task manager?
Showcase or HTC task manager?

Options are different on some taskbars and that is probably why it now shows it.

Is the GF taskbar working better for the batter issue?
Should be spot on I think.

well I dont know how well its working for the battery issue, as when I click on the battery on the taskbar it brings up the notification screen and just shows the one percentage with a little green battery to the right of it, which is fine. but like i said it messes up the notification screen some by putting a white line between the sprint and battery notification, and theres a shadow of the close button that is superimpossed (sp?) behind the battery notification, hope this makes sense lol. I'll try to uninstall and reinstall to see if that fixes it.

Just soft reset my friend.
It happens from time to time.

I've tried that, it's just too small and cumbersome, and it doesn't respond as well as I would like.

Personally, whenever I use taskmgr, I never see it hit 1MB of RAM usage.

It always hovers around 150-200K.

And whenever Im done using it, I just execute a "close all apps" which closes the taskmgr as well, and thus releases any RAM it may have consumed in the process.

Root,

I investigated what you were talking about more thoroughly and Im sure of it that you're confusing one task manager for the other.

Look for yourself.
Here is what happens when I map taskmgr to my long talk key and open it up:

http://i954.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/Screen06.png

As you can see, it consumes a mere 152K, that's it.

What you are confusing it for is this OTHER task manager,
http://i954.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/Screen02.png

That one consume over 1MB, look:
http://i954.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/Screen08.png

They are 2 COMPLETELY different and distinct task managers that have nothing to do with one another.
The icons even appear different, and the path is completely different.

My method recommended on the previous page doesn't consume 1MB, it only consumes ~ 150K-170K
Oh, and the CPU usage is only ~ 1% (it only spiked up during the screenshot, then went back to throttling between 0 and 1%)

Also, I personally found quickmenu to be a bit on the cumbersome side and unfortunately not very finger friendly. It almost demands the use of the stylus in some scenarios.
taskmgr is perfect for quick task switching, app killing, and it once more consumes little more than 150K.

I must admit I am lost!

As for correcting this task manager issue in future versions, would simply cooking in Quickmenu 2.7 solve most everybody's issue? Or maybe throw in a Start Menu link to the correct task manager? Both?

Let me know what you guys think and I'll get on it!

Just include the taskmgr file in \Startmenu\Programs, and map it to Send Key(Hold).

It only consumes ~ 150-170K, it's VERY finger-friendly, and it simply works.

Most other task managers that I've installed as add-ons typically freeze, refuse to open, don't properly show all open apps, aren't finger-friendly, etc.

taskmgr on the other hand is easy to use and a very elegant standard solution.

I understand that there are two different taskmanager options in WM.
Will check to see if your option consumes less ram when mapped.
If you just open it then it does take up a lot more resources.
Maybe when it is mapped it works different.

I do know the difference in the two task manager options though, just to be clear.

Also if you ever open the registry editor you will see the exact same task manager options as you are talking about.
Well, you will see processes and CPU Usage as well there.

Josh Showcase 1.0.1b works for me and isn't overkill. Just keep in mind that no matter which task manager you cook in you aren't going to please everybody with it. As easy as they are to add in why not leave it out and let others add in what they want? Then they have no one to blame but themselves if they don't like the one they tried out.

Plus Showcase 1.0.1b has a large screen you can easily read specially if you have trouble reading smaller print.

I've tried just about every ROM I can get my hands on and this ROM is by far the best I've come across. It's about as close to a custom ROM I'd want cooked for myself as a ROM can get, it's not too bloated with junk and not trimmed down needing me to customize it by adding a lot of things to it. It's fast, stable, and flat out works.

It's just a shame most of this thread is getting cluttered up with people not happy with the lack of a stupid processor meter (I still have no clue why that even matters NOR do I care) or certain task managers not doing this or doing that or to small to read or too overkill. It just goes to show as close to perfection as this ROM is some people are still going to find something to complain about it. Does it really matter if one task manager uses a little more processor than the other one? I mean cmon people.

Showcase 1.1.0 simply doesn't work like half the time with this build of WinMo.

In TF3D, my experience with it was that it worked on initial launch, but after a few resets and nothing else, it prevented TF3D from launching, but Titanium still worked.

This is a known problem by the way acknowledged over at XDA.

A few things I don't like about Showcase though is that it becomes unresponsive too frequently, it sometimes doesn't show all opened apps, and then of course there's the Outlook bug (XDA thread goes into this in more detail).

taskmgr is just as finger-friendly, just as large, and does everything showcase does, and it's most importantly very stable and not known to have any issues.

Thanks for the screenshot, that does look pretty nice. I already threw it in my kitchen a while back but haven't cooked it yet. I'll give it a shot.

Btw, I also put in showcase suite 1.1.0. What's the difference between the two?

1.1.0 doesn't have any settings and it also has many problems with new rom builds like screen alignment.

Go with 1.0.1b only.
Other roms had 1.1.0 cooked in and then removed it because of the issues.

Showcase Suite was causing freezing on certain ROMs. I know it was causing an freezing issue on the Eneryrom and I used this fix to stop the freezing. If you read the first few lines it's talked about the benefits of the old Showcase.

Will it freeze with your ROM? I can't say but I know for a fact that Showcase 1.0.1b runs fine with no freezing.

Actually for some people it does.
I was referring to ram not cpu.
Like Verizon gimped devices with less ram than other providers.
It makes a HUGE diff to them when running TF3D.

In TF3D, my experience with it was that it worked on initial launch, but after a few resets and nothing else, it prevented TF3D from launching, but Titanium still worked.

This is a known problem by the way acknowledged over at XDA.

I agree with all that.
Just not sure mapping taskmgr is that much better than the stock mapped task manager options.
It is the same app but depending on how it is opened it offers different options.

Oh OK since I'm with Sprint I guess that's why I couldn't see the point in all this. Thanks for clearing it up for me, as you know I asked before and got a smart @ssed reply.
