whats the status on the sys/xip that i linked u to reeseboy? i really would like to see if it'll be a reality on the first page of this topic.

But really i cant wait to see it finished and polished to ur config, so that i can use it, cause its supposedly the sys/xip that has the rounded edges and other misc enhancements.

The UI enhancements you are talking about (rounded edges) are a function of the OS part of the sys (specifically GWE.dll) and not the XIP. The sole function of the XIP is to initialize enough hardware so the OS can load.

1) i don't believe i was referring to specifically the XIP with my "xip/sys" argument.
2) thanks for the tip, but i really just want the 21939 sys/xip to be worked on the same way reesedog does his usual packaging of his SYS/XIPs.
3) i don't think it'd be as easy as coping a .dll from a different SYS build and implementing it in another. not to mention the unforeseen issues (or variables) with doing such a thing
4) i really believe just doing a flash with a clean SYS/XIP ROM with a proper build structure to be the best way to go.
5) and I'm not really sure what your aiming for with your statement. other than providing me (personally) useless information.

but regardless i guess thanks for shining light on were the pretty edges came from. since u seem slightly knowledgeable about it, perhaps you know how to properly pack the previously SYS/XIP the way reeseboy does like usual? that would be awesome

I just finished downloading the first XIP/SYS from reeseboy (2302 - but since I haven't opened it yet I'm defintely not qualified to comment on how he packs them or what else he does. Maybe later. Otherwise you are correct in all your comments.

BTW - no offense was intended (downside to short posts sometimes) - it seemed to me reading your post that you expected something in the XIP to give you rounded edges. But reading again, you did say XIP/SYS so there was no need for me to post.

And to add detail to my post, the pretty edges come from .png files that are utilized by the gwe.dll as specified as part of the theme. The registry values for the theme are in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today. Your best bet is to find a theme that has the look you like and modify it. Classicblue.tsk comes with most of the WM6.5 SYS files and IIRC it has the rounded tabbed edges.

i just realized u thought i was talking about rounded tabbed edges. Not at all, which is my fault cause i didn't specify what was rounded.

What i originally meant was the roundness of the entire screens edges. like you see on the Palm Pre.

I would come to believe any sys/xip after 21925 (as shown in the video above) would have mostly similar or the same aesthetics.

Which is why i just would LOVE to have 21939 done by reeseboy as soon as possible, as this sys/xip is really looking to be a truly beautiful WM 6.5 Post-Release combination.
