Re: JD's Clean Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM & Kitchen (Updated sept.4)

More Error Messages (using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RC)

All I did was run ROM_Builder.bat

Can someone post a link to instructions on this thing? Or is this just not compatible with Windows 7?

I tried running normally and got these messages. I tried running as admin and it gave a different error right off the bat in the command line.

Even tried disabling UAC - no difference

Re: JD's Clean Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM & Kitchen (Updated sept.4)

I noticed there is already a pre-built RAPHIMG.nbh rom in the RUU directory. Flashing that now. I would still like to learn how to use this kitchen. Does it have something to do with Bepe's Platform Rebuilder? Is that something separate I need or is it included in the rar? Is it pointless for me to try this on Windows 7? Lots of questions, and Google doesn't like me. Google just points me to roms people made using platform rebuilder but no instruction on how to actually use it or if it just doesn't work in windows 7...

This is from post 5 of this thread...

To enable a package you will need to remove the "_skip" file to disable a package you will need to add a "_skip" file the structure of the kitchen is simple you will have SYS OEM ROM and EXT ... in the EXT folder is where you what to do you customizations and add your apps .... the directories for the EXT subdirectories are 1_HTC 2_MSFT 3_MISC_APPS_ADD_ONS 4_JD_ROM_MODS 5_END_USER, you want to work out of the folder 5_END_USER this is where you will add you EXT packages that you want cooked into the ROM when you are done double click the script file it will build the ROM for you then all you have to do is flash

I got the same error on Windows 7 32 bit. After some research it has something to do with UAC. If you manually open up a command prompt with administrator rights, navigate to the directory containing "ROM_Builder.bat" and run it from the administrator command prompt.

I am not sure why you can't right click on "ROM_Builder.bat" and run as administrator but I ran into the same problem.

Re: JD's Clean Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM & Kitchen (Updated sept.4)

So far this ROM is exactly what I was looking for. I don't like roms packed full of crap, I would rather have a clean, bug free rom!

One problem I have ran into is when I try and scroll certain screens with my finger it doesn't recognize that I am trying to scroll. I have seen this in other places but the one that I can think of off the top of my head is in "Sounds and Notifications". When i try and scroll with my finger it does nothing. I have to pull my stylus out and use the scrollbar.

I am, I did a search on Bing earlier, I wasn't being directed to any of the links I would select. I generally use Opera anyway.

Other than that, this build is great. It's a lot more responsive and seems to play a bit nicer with my phone. Battery life seems pretty good too (although I use a battery reg edit). This is the best 6.5 ROM I've used for a while.

Thanks for all the hard work JD!

What's everyone using for a SIP? I've tried a few different EZInput SIPs and haven't had much luck. Now I'm using FingerKeyboard, but I'd like to have a compact QWERTY as well.

Re: JD's Clean Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM & Kitchen (Updated sept.4)

Running Vista here and tried running ROM_Builder.bat and twice now, I've gotten a htc rom tool popup...

"Failed to set data for 'htcrt_backup'"

Any ideas anyone?

I am using resco keyboard which now does seem to work with the newest wm builds but it doesn't qwerty.

I read this and was able to remove stuff I didnt want but I have a heck of a time understanding how to add OEMs I have, i think before I all i had to do was add the oem folder to the directory and boom it was an option. I know JD said there is no support and i understand. In the end I just ended up running the rom builder as is and am happy with the rom so i recogmend just doing that if you dont know how to edit the kitchen.
