Re: [062809] grooveROM 5 - CE OS 5.2.21819 (Build 21820.5.0.40) [Touch Pro ROM & Kitc
OK... In my frustration with all these roms and lack of good notification system, battery life and reliability. I went on a relentless search of searching and flashing. I was on MS3 and liking it but still felt like the integration was not that great, so I looked again at tf3d2 to see if the bugs were worked out. I really liked what Juicy had done on his V8 but the battery life was horrendous, as bad or worse than stock which I got 1-3 hours with wifi on at my house which is a low 1 bar or less signal area for phone/data. Previously on groove & Calc roms with ms3 I was getting 5-6 hrs which i was very happy with, but again ms3 and some misc bugs and poor notification handling just wasn't working for me.
So I went to NFSAN's new rom and it was UNBELIEVEABLE, that guy is in a whole nother league. He has cooked in most of the programs that I cook in with normal kitchens but he is at 85MB size where I am at 110 for very similar builds and the ROM was fast, BUT it uses TF3D1 and his notifications automatically dismis which is worthless and there was no response on a fix, SO I pulled in Caulku's TF3D2 OEMs to Inda's latest kitchen and found a Topaz notification (not Rhodium) cab and snooze interval cab and it turnsw out that the notifications and appropriate battery/signal/wifi link perfectly to all the appropropriate TF3D2 parts and then linking the clock to Galarm, call history to Phonex call history, all contacts to phonex contacts and calendar to thumbcal and running it for 2 full days now it is unbelieveable. Full finger friendly and beautiful kinetic scrolling throughout, reliable full screen caller ID with Phonex and screen protection with pocketshield (set to protect screen with all phone funtions off except enabling volume buttons to mute incoming ring) BEST of all last 5-6 charges I have been getting 7-12 hours battery runs and no soft resets running WIFi with standby mode enabled. Thanks Inda & Calk! Also to add. using manila today vs what i used to use in TF3D detacher and second today is awesome because now my today plugs are integrated and there have been no problems with ssmapho staying attached. Also tested bluetooth, which stays connected and clear for long calls, wifi which connects and switches hotpots fast, quick and automatically and remembers keys, GPS locks fast, MSVC works like buttah. Sure, if my damn internet connection doesn't keep dropping. I've tried to download the new sys like 5 times so far.

Here are the 2 cabs I used to get perfect notifications and restore snooze intervals to native bubble vs new graphics and no snooze intervals. Found on XDA |

I'm uploading now, but it's super super slow -- and the TP ROM is waiting in line behind the Diamond ROM. Will be up sometime tonight/AM depending on upload speed and connection timeouts.
Prolly won't get the ported sys up until tomorrow though.. |
