Dear RootLinux,

How does one set data to manual instead of auto? Thank you in advance.

Hussein

In all your data settings set it to maual.
Email, weather and any other things like Twitter tab.
That will save you a lot.
Also make sure to uncheck use data in those features while roaming.

i hear ya root, but energys seem to be using data constantly, which would explain the battery life. the data arrows are not a good gauge tho as i think the dialer has gsm stuff in it and is likely why the data arrows are always on, but it does seem like data is always running. just my .02 tho.
should note, im just speculating..my guess was gsm parts in the dialer because ive read some have had issues with dialing 911 and the data arrows seem to be on..i really dont know one way or the other but im sure someone round here has the knowledge and will chime in

I can not confirm or deny battery use on NRG roms as I only run mine now.
Usually turning off autoupdate will help.

I can receive texts, but I can't send them. After sending a text, I receive a text with a 2106 error. How can this be fixed?

NRG has a great rom, but my battery life is pretty horrible. With all of the sense widgets set to manual, If I leave my IM client (palringo) running, and I don't even use the phone except for an occasional IM, I get about 8 hours total.

I haven't had the chance to try it, so does anyone know if palringo affects the battery discharge rate much if it is just running in the background? Are all IM clients about equal in battery drainage, or do some drain it faster? How does the battery usage of push email compare?

Yes it is. But Max versions are not working and cookie and 2.5 sense have had it a very bad battery.

Yes. Any messenger that always updates and checks data will eat battery.
Some clients are worse than others.
Some roms use more battery as well.
