I remember a year or so back that there was a big thread on WM and registry settings to set the 4 modes of operation for the GPS on an HTC Mogul. I memory serves me right they were a numbner from 1 to 4...

The modes were (don't know the actual number)
Off, GPS Only, Assited GPS where It would also work without the tower but slower startup, then the default mode where you had to have both tower and GPS Sats in order to work. I had set mine to (I think was 2) where it was Assisted but would still work without the tower.

I use Tom Tom and it works perfectly. I have even downloaded some speed traps, and traffic cameras. I have no problems with it and it utilizes the internal gps of the phone.
