New to Touch Pro

I have a touch pro on the way. I have been working with my mogul and before that the apache. I just want to make sure that I am understanding things correctly. Flashing the touch pro is similar to the mogul in that you have to unlock it first. I have downloaded the Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.zip file that I will use to unlock. I have updated my kitchen to to the vga oem's and the herman kitchen. That should be all I need to start cooking, correct?

Correct. If you have cooked before it will just as easy as before. Have fun brewing up some new ROMs

sounds as if u have everything u need. u may want to update your radio to 1.11 or 1.04. they seem to do the best as far as heating up and power drain. there is also a thread out there called touch pro collection of cabs. it has a ton of cool things, mods, hacks themes etc. have fun!

Thanks for the input. Do you know of a rom that has the updated radio that I can flash to? After unlocking the mogul I alway had to flash a rom to get it out of bootloader mode. I don't know if the touch pro is similar. So what I did on the mogul was flash a custom rom with the updated radio and the build my own if I wanted to change it. I was curious, how is the battery life of the stock battery on the touch pro?

You won't have that problem with the touch pro. You can just flash a radio anytime you want after you unlock. You can use any of the radios here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46616
Also, read this http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=65925

Okay, I just want to upgrade my touch pro from 6.1 to 6.5.

I just unlock it ... and I am unsure where to go about from there. Just pick a rom and it will be 6.5?

Make sure you read the instructions here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43266

You have to read the first post of that rom and it should tell you if it's 6.5 or 6.1.
MightyRom5, Juicy7, Psycki, StarRom are all 6.5. Those are just a few of them. I think MightyRom5 is a good one. Try it out. Good luck and welcome to ppcgeeks.

One last kitchen question. Do both the Herman and the Rafael kitchens work okay for cooking roms for the sprint touch pro?
